About Bahrain

Allied to this modernisation has been an increasing focus on tourism. Although not yet a major attraction on the tourist trail, Bahrain has undeniably great holiday potential. The geography and the location have meant that Bahrain sees a warm climate all year round so finding a cheap Bahrain holiday or even looking for a Bahrain late deal to fit your needs will not be difficult. June through to September are very hot with high levels of humidity, December through March are cooler, slightly breezy with the occasional showers. Any other months are transitional months, where Bahrain is likely to see a mixture of both the climates. The environment possesses, in places, outstanding natural beauty. Even if you like the city but want the experience of exploring arid land, Bahrain has miles of empty coastline. As an archipelago of thirty –three islands, Bahrain does not share a land boundary with any other country. Bahrain’s largest islands are Bahrain Island, Muhharraq Island, Umm an Nasan and Sitrah, Once attached to the Arabian Peninsula, Bahrain has since been separated from the mainland, but the causeway that now exists between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia a mere sixteen miles. Among all the Bahrain Islands the most popular islands include the Hawar Island which with endless lines of palms, desert sands and tranquil waters of the Gulf. Al Bander, which is the home of some of the finest hotels and  restaurants and finally the Ritz Carlton Beach which stretchers over 600 metres of white sand provides one of the most luxurious backdrops in Bahrain. Described sometimes as “Middle East lite” because of its fusion of modern architecture and Arabian Gulf identity, Bahrain is now generally more liberal than its neighbours. More recently, it has also become popular for its burgeoning skyline, now boasting iconic buildings such as the Bahrain World Trade Centre and the Bahrain Financial Tower. The Bahrain International racing circuit is located here, and is home to the annual Bahrain F1 Grand Prix.

A holiday in Bahrain can be a family adventure as well, with activities plentiful. Highlights include the Manama Walking Tour, with some of the best outdoor markets; this tour will give you a real feel of the Bahrain lifestyle. The Regency InterContinental which is the largest hotel in terms of guest capacity, here you have Manama Souk which is Bahrain’s only five star French restaurant. If they city life is the experience you seek then you could book yourself in at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers, located in the business district of Manama. The Sheraton has two exquisite restaurants Soie for Eurasian cuisine and Golestan for some fine Iranian cuisine. Next door to the Sheraton is The Hilton Hotel which houses the very popular Japanese restaurant Kei and Cavalry Club Bar. For romantic and exotic, just a twenty five minute drive from the city centre and miles away from the action of the city is the Al Bander resort which has cosy chalets, private beaches and stunning views is the perfect holiday not just for couples but for families and groups of friends. The Gulf Hotel, a five star hotel is not part of any international chain but is one of the most socially active hotels with food festivals, rock concerts and even ballet is staged here. Located on the southern part of Manama it overlooks the Grand Mosque and prides itself on the first five star hotel in Bahrain which opened its doors more than thirty years ago and since then has welcomed visitors to plan their holidays in Bahrain and stay at a hotel with history.
