Tours of the Galapagos Islands are an once in a lifetime experience, the islands lie 1,000 km’s off of the coast of Ecuador, and are in actual fact 13 main islands and 3 small islands, the Galapagos Islands are a marine life reserve, and each of the islands is home to different wildlife species.
In North Seymour Island you can spot Iguana’s; Bartholomew Island is home to the Galapagos penguin; Darwin Island is home to marine iguanas. On Espanola the oldest island you can see many species of wildlife such as lava lizards, swallow-tailed gulls, blue foot boobies, and red billed tropic birds, Galapagos hawks, and the waved albatross. The famous flightless Cormorants inhabit the Fernandina Island, as well as Galapagos penguins and sea lions. On Santa Maria Island flamingos and green sea turtles can be sighted. Isabela Island is renowned for its Galapagos tortoises. Pinta Island was where the famous Galapagos tortoise “Lonesome George “recently passed away. These islands are truly one of the most unique sights in the world.
Quito, the capital of Ecuador is the best preserved historic centre in Latin America, and has been classified as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
The Cotopaxi National Park has one the highest active volcanoes in the world, and is part of the famous valley of volcanoes, not to be missed.....
