Cherating is situated about 75 km to the north of Kuantan. It is an ideal recreational spot offering a host of water sports activities such as snorkeling, parasailing, swimming and windsurfing. The beautiful sandy beaches are lined with Casuarina trees and present a scenic sight.

One of the key highlights of the beach is the rustic ambience in the kampungs where the hospitable people usually play host to the tourists. Other well known waterfalls that are ideal for taking a dip are Jerengkang Waterfalls, Lata Iskandar Waterfalls and Champang waterfalls.
