Itinerary

Day 1

UK to Boston

Fly into Boston and spend a night here to relax after your flight.  Boston has a compact downtown with plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance of our hotels.

Day 2

Boston to Salisbury Beach

Take a taxi out to the Cruise America depot and collect your motorhome. From here today’s drive is very short, taking you to the coast and the sands of Salisbury Beach – a popular getaway for Bostonian families. If you have time detour via the town of Salem made famous by the witch trials of the late 1600s.

Day 3

Salisbury Beach to Bar Harbor

The journey to Bar Harbor offers a stunning insight into the beauty of this region. Dense forests cascade to the ocean and the road meanders between the two, passing villages and fishing towns along the way. We suggest the Bar Harbor Woodlands campground for tonight, located at the entrance to stunning Acadia National Park.

Day 4

Acadia National Park

Spend a day exploring this stunning and ancient woodland, where historic riding paths take walkers to spectacular ocean lookouts and hidden lakes. Acadia is a photographer’s dream so make sure you get up early to capture the magic of the morning light.

Day 5

Bar Harbor to Penobscot River

For those looking to leave the tourists behind, head inland to northern Maine and the Big Eddy Campground on the Penobscot River. This stunning and remote region is home to moose, bald eagles and even the elusive black bear. Fishing is popular here, as is hiking in the nearby Baxter State Park where you can also take a dip in the clear, refreshing rivers.

Day 6

Penobscot River to Mount Blue State Park

It is a stunning drive south through the mountains to Mount Blue and its adjacent park. Sandy beaches lead into the lakes and pine trees frame the spectacular views.

Day 7

Mount Blue State Park to White Mountain National Forest

Cross the border into New Hampshire and enter the protected White Mountains National Forest. In an area famed for its great hiking trails you will also find plenty of other activities available at the Crawford Notch Campground. This picturesque riverside campground offers biking and hiking trails, or why not grab an inner tube and float on the river’s gentle currents?

Day 8

White Mountain National Forest to Stowe

Continue your journey west into the quiet state of Vermont. These mountains are dotted with quaint villages that fulfil that picture-postcard idea of New England, with white steepled churches and picket fences.

Day 9

Stowe

At the Mountain View Campground there are 2 swimming pools, a Jacuzzi, mini golf and shuffleboard courts making for a great day just relaxing around your motorhome. Alternatively head into Stowe and pick up some souvenirs in the town’s quaint shops then enjoy some craft beers from one of the area’s local breweries.

Day 10

Stowe to Green Mountain National Forest

In the south of Vermont the Green Mountain National Forest awaits. Densely wooded hills are dotted with streams, rivers, waterfalls and walking trails. Abundant wildlife call this region home, from wild turkeys to industrious yet secretive beavers.

Day 11

Green Mountain National Forest to Preston

Take the scenic route southward, crossing through Massachusetts en route to the maritime state of Connecticut. If you have time continue out to the coast and see the historic seaport of Mystic, or else relax at the well-appointed Hidden Acres Family Campground with its swimming pool and adjacent river.

Day 12

Preston to Cape Cod

Make a stop at the Rhode Island capital, Providence, and enjoy lunch on the banks of one of the city’s 3 rivers. From there it is a short drive onward to Massachusetts and the Scusset Beach State Reservation at the gateway to Cape Cod.

Day 13

Cape Cod

Use today to explore this serene peninsula that sits like a hook in the Atlantic Ocean. Small towns are dotted between sweeping coves and ferries ply the waters over to the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

Day 14

Cape Cod to Boston

It is a short journey back to the Cruise America depot south of Boston.  Return your motorhome and take a taxi back to the airport for your flight home.
