Itinerary

Day 1

UK to Las Vegas

Arrive into the man-made wonder of Las Vegas. Bright lights and sparkling shows greet you on the Las Vegas Strip, alongside luxurious hotels and Michelin starred restaurants.

Day 2

Grand Canyon National Park

Start your holiday with a ‘flying visit’ to the incredible Grand Canyon.  Maverick Aviation will collect you from your hotel and take you to join their helicopter tour out to this incredible national park. The knowledgeable pilot will tell you all about the monuments you pass, like the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, before you arrive at the canyon’s edge. Next, descend below the rim to witness the true scale of this rent in the Earth right down to the Colorado River below.

Day 3

Las Vegas to Ely

Head to the Cruise America depot to collect your motorhome, and after a brief orientation you are ready to hit the road and drive north through the remote desert of Nevada. Make a detour to the remarkable Great Basin National Park where you can join a tour of the Lehman Caves and drive the incredible Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive. Finish your day at the campground at nearby Ely.

Day 4

Ely to Salt Lake City

Cross into Utah and you will soon encounter the remarkable salt flats for which this region is so famous. The ground gradually rises from the desert planes of Nevada until you reach the mountain city of Salt Lake City, famous for its devout Mormon heritage and beautiful Temple Square.

Day 6

Salt Lake City to Springville

It is a short drive out of Salt Lake City to the town of Springville so take the scenic route, first of all heading east out of the city to the Rocky Mountain resort town of Park City. Stop for lunch before winding your way through the scenic Heber Valley until you reach your campground in Springville.

Day 6

Springville to Moab

Journey south through ‘red rock country’. Travelling through small communities and passing spectacular desert landscapes, this is the true road trip experience. Make a side trip to the incredible Arches National Park, where precarious stone arches frame the landscape and every turn provides another photo opportunity. Stay for sunset and watch as the flaming rocks appear to change colour before your eyes before heading to the Moab campground.

Day 7

Canyonlands National Park

Foray into the immense landscape of Canyonlands, a truly huge and wild national park. Rock formations carved over millennia make for an array of rewarding hikes in this park that is divided by rivers. Head to the easily accessible Island in the Sky region for stunning vistas across the escarpment.

Day 8

Moab to Blanding

Drive south toward the remote Four Corners region, where Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona meet. There is even a plaque at this very point making for a great photo of up to 4 people, each in a different state! End the day at the Blue Mountain RV Park.

Day 9

Blanding to Escalante State Park

Today’s journey takes you to the Route 276 ferry crossing of the Colorado River. The 30 minute crossing departs every other hour during the summer but check the ferry schedules locally.  rom there you enter the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, an incredible park of multi-coloured rock formations stretching into the distance. Overnight at the nearby Escalante State Park RV park.

Day 10

Escalante State Park to Bryce Canyon National Park

It is an easy drive west to get to the unique Bryce Canyon National Park.  Set up at the Bryce Canyon Campground before catching the free shuttle into the park which will take you to 12 different points. Described as a scientist’s laboratory and a child’s playground, Bryce boasts an array of geological formations that have been sculpted by the forces of nature.

Day 11

Bryce Canyon National Park to Zion National Park

Continuing your journey west through the Dixie National Forest you will arrive at the Watchman Campground, inside Zion National Park.  Offering yet another national park experience, Zion has verdant cliffs, deep river gorges and the spectacular ‘Narrows’ slot canyon. Take the park shuttle from the campground to avoid driving in the park.

Day 12

Zion National Park to Las Vegas

Say goodbye to spectacular Utah and your final national park. It is a short drive back into Nevada where you will drop off your motorhome back at the Las Vegas depot before boarding your flight home.
