It's rare to find a destination as thrilling as Dubai; this dazzling city is hot all year round and always entertaining.

This emirate gem is graced with warm sandy beaches, endless tax-free shopping opportunities and ultra-modern buildings. However, the desert is never far away and thrilling jeep trips can take you right into the sandy interior of the region. Braver travellers can even opt to stay overnight, ride a camel and experience some authentic Arabic hospitality. Holidays to Dubai enable travellers to treat themselves to the most opulent accommodation, like that on offer at the Arabian Court at One&Only Royal Mirage. This sumptuous five-star resort on Jumeirah Beach is beautifully designed to include an atrium, large temperature controlled pool, lush manicured grounds and a private beach. Guests can take their pick from three different restaurants serving both local and international dishes, and enjoy nightly entertainment in the open air.

Travel Tips & Advice for Dubai

Dubai Activities

With soaring temperatures and year-round sun, it's no wonder that the Wild Wadi Waterpark, which looks more like a small city, is located here. There are 30 rides featuring a range of slides, inflatables and waterfalls - it's perfect for kids but grownups won't be able to resist its charms either. For a more adult-friendly pursuit, head to the prestigious Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, an all season club with clear fairways, ornate water hazards and a distinctly tropical air.

Dubai Food & Drink

In Dubai the food is flavoursome and rich - it's also offered in generous amounts so make sure you leave room for dessert! It's normal for spices to be used, but in the emirates they are mild with a tendency toward cinnamon and nutmeg in particular. Expect meat to be a main ingredient, as well as fish. Arabian coffee rounds off many meals, but you can also sample chai-style teas and delicious fruit smoothies. At your hotel, a range of local wines and spirits will be on offer.

Dubai Attractions

Dubai is known for its modern buildings and structures such as the breathtaking Palm Jumeirah Island, and these make for an excellent excursion. However, to get a more ancient perspective, head into the old city around the area known as Dubai Creek. Here, traders barter with textiles and fragrant spices outside traditional Arabic mosques and homes. There are two sides to the district, so take a water taxi, or abra, to get across the creek quickly.
