Day 1

Hanoi Arrival

Arrival and welcome at Hanoi Airport. Transfer to the city for hotel check in. In the afternoon, climb into a traditional cyclo for a tour of the city’s traditional 36 streets in the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake area to see the ancient Ngoc Son Temple. The rest of the day is free to spend at your leisure. Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2


This morning, you will participate in a fun treasure hunt designed to help you explore the Old Quarter of Hanoi, looking for objects at different places such as markets, temples and typical old houses. In the afternoon, continue to explore Hanoi with its famous Temple of Literature also known as the “First University of Vietnam” and Ethnology Museum where you can learn about the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3

Hanoi - Ninh Giang - Hai Phong

Transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for the train to Cam Giang. Then depart to Ninh Giang, a small farming village where you can enjoy a puppet show performed by the locals and experience the genuine warmth of the villagers. Lunch is prepared by a local family. In the afternoon, set off to Hai Phong where you will arrive late in the afternoon. Dinner on your own account. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4

Halong Bay

This morning we leave Hai Phong for Halong Bay, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site with 3,000 islands of towering limestone dotting the bay and Gulf of Tonkin (2 hours driving). Upon arrival at Ha Long, enjoy a welcome drink before your cruise through the bay. Enjoy lunch on deck whilst the boat cruises through beautiful islets. You can enjoy swimming, kayaking and a walk to the summit of Titop Island. In the evening, attend the chef's cooking demonstration and try your skills at Vietnamese cooking. Gala dinner is served on board and relax at leisure - enjoy a movie, board games and spa services (extra) or try your hand at squid fishing. Overnight in Ha Long Bay.

Day 5

Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue

Participate in Tai Chi on the sundeck at the crack of dawn, followed by coffee & tea with cookies and pastries. Afterwards, explore Surprise Cave (Hang Sung Sot), one of the largest and most famous grottoes in Halong Bay. Check out your cabin at 9.30am and enjoy an International breakfast buffet before returning to Halong harbour for your transfer to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Hue. If time permits, you will stop at the 300 year old But Thap Pagoda on the way. You will be met in Hue and transferred to your hotel. Meals on your own account and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6


In the morning, departing from the lovely Tu Hieu pagoda, you will be taken to your boat at the Tien Non pier where your bikes will be awaiting. Enjoy a pleasant bike ride to the village of Sinh with a stopover in the village of Thanh Tien, passing French cows, ancient villages, rivers and beautiful churches in the Hue countryside. In the afternoon, visit the Imperial Palace (the Citadel), located right on the banks of the Perfume River and the Tomb of Tu Duc. Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7

Hue - Hoi An

In the morning, transfer to the Perfume River to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda. After visiting the pagoda, board a traditional sampan for a cruise up the placid river to the Tomb of Minh Mang. Afterwards departure for Hoi An via the scenic Hai Van Pass to view one of the most beautiful panoramas in Vietnam as you look out over the central coastline. You will also stop at the quiet, white sandy beach of Lang Co. Arrive in Hoi An late in the afternoon. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8

Hoi An

Today you will take a stroll through the narrow streets of the town to explore two-century-old Chinese houses. Sites include the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese Temple, and Tan Ky trading house. In the afternoon, join a workshop for producing lanterns where you will have the chance to discover this traditional handicraft for yourself. The rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the beach or Hoi An town. Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9

Surrounds of Hoi An Town

In the morning, transfer to Buffalo Cart Station. Enjoy a peaceful buffalo cart ride through the countryside to the farm site. On arrival at the farm, join local farmers to work on the field: ploughing and raking soil and transplanting rice or enjoy a buffalo ride. In this peaceful setting, you will be able to observe and take part in the various stages of rice processing: husking the paddy grains (the rice still covered in its shell), pounding and bleaching. Try your hand at the tools and artisanal machines under the watchful and encouraging eyes of your teachers for the day. Afterwards, savour an excellent lunch of local specialties: Tam Huu, rice pancakes, spring rolls, soups and caramel pork. Head back to Hoi An town in the early afternoon and spend it at leisure, walking around or shopping. Dinner on your own account. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10

Hoi An - Danang - Ho Chi Minh City

This morning, you will be transferred to the airport in Danang for your short flight to Ho Chi Minh City. From the airport, you will transfer to the city where you will start your exploration of this dynamic metropolis. Visit the historic sites of the city, including the Old Post Office of Saigon, the Notre Dame cathedral, Dong Khoi Street and the Chinese District of Cho Lon with bustling Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda. In the afternoon, learn the art of sand painting and then spend time to create your own masterpiece! Meals on your own account. Overnight at the hotel

Day 11

Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City

Today, head from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Thia Canal in Cai Be District, a journey of about 2.5 hours, where you will start your excursion into the deep Mekong Delta area. Feel the daily rhythm of life by experiencing many local activities such as taking local ferries to cross small canals and rivers, cycling in about 2 hours on small lanes passing by a local church, market, brick kiln, and lush orchard gardens. Stop en-route at a local house where you can sample seasonal fruit along with tea and honey and even local wine. By the end of the morning, take a boat trip to another local house for lunch before enjoying a leisurely rowing boat trip along the small Cay Da canal. In the afternoon, head straight to your hotel in Can Tho.

Ho Chi Minh City departure
