Day 1

UK - Havana

Arrival in Havana airport. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may have a chance to view some of the iconic sights in this incredible city. Overnight at Hotel Telegrafo (or similar).

Day 2

Havana - Bayamo

Fly to either Holguin Airport or Santiago de Cuba Airport and transfer to Bayamo, a small town known as "La Heroica" due to its long history of revolutionary battles. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may have a chance to stroll through this friendly town. Overnight at Hotel Royalton.

Day 3

Bayamo, Sierra Maestra Mountains

Enjoy a tour of Bayamo with an experienced guide before travelling into the Sierra Maestra Mountains. Have lunch in a peaceful mountain village with views of Pico Turquino (the island's highest mountain) and take a forest jeep ride to La Plata - the former headquarters of Fidel Castro's revolutionary heroes. Discover the hidden buildings and radio station and enjoy a visit to a tiny mountain community or a pleasant stroll by the scenic River Yara. Overnight at Villa Santo Domingo.

Day 4

River walk, Pilgrimage site, reach Santiago de Cuba

Take an easy stroll through the village and along the bank of the River Yara. Enjoy amazing views of the mountains and enjoy a refreshing dip in the river. Travel to Santiago de Cuba, visiting El Cobre church along the way (Cuba's most sacred pilgrimage site). Have a late lunch at the hotel in Santiago de Cuba and enjoy free time to relax or have a swim at the hotel pool. Have dinner at the hotel at your own leisure. Overnight at Melia Santiago Hotel.

Day 5

Stunning Santiago de Cuba

Depart for a full day exploring Santiago; a fascinating city that has been of crucial importance throughout Cuba's history. Highlights include the Moncada Barracks, Parque Cespedes (including the historic Ayuntamiento where Castro gave his victory speech), Calle Heredia and Padre Pico Street. The tour includes a visit to the museum 'Lucha Clandestina' within the 17th Century Tivoli district and lunch next to historic fortress Castillo del Morro which offers incredible coastal views. Free time is available in the afternoon to explore Santiago independently or relax back at the hotel.

Have dinner at a local restaurant and enjoy an optional visit to Cuba's most famous music venue 'Casa de la Trova'. Overnight at Melia Santiago Hotel.

Day 6

Baracoa and beyond

An early start for one of the most interesting and spectacular drives in Cuba. The first stop is the city of Guantanamo before continuing along the very south eastern tip of Cuba to admire the almost desert-like scenery. Enjoy a late lunch at the hotel in Baracoa and time to relax before a stroll through Baracoa's picturesque centre - the place Christopher Columbus first landed in Cuba. Have dinner at the hotel and take a stroll to experience the local music bars. Overnight at Villa Baracoa Hotel.

Day 7

Rio Toa, Cuba's wildest river - Finca Duaba

Experience Rio Toa, Cuba's wildest river which runs through a remote area and is an UNESCO protected reserve. Enjoy an exhilarating boat ride up the river through some spectacular scenery and stop for lunch and a guided tour of Finca Duaba, a farm surrounded by cocoa plantations. In the afternoon, there is free time to relax back at the hotel in Baracoa. After dinner, head out into the city and experience the sights and sounds by night. Overnight at Villa Baracoa Hotel.

Day 8

End of the Eastern experience - Havana

Enjoy the morning at your leisure before transferring to the airport for your flight back to Havana. Upon arrival, there will be a transfer to the hotel and the remainder of the day is free to relax and enjoy Havana. Overnight at Hotel Telegrafo (or similar).
