Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is a luxurious desert dwelling. With a domed entrance and a living area without walls, the lodge offers a luxury getaway that’s as close to nature as it gets. Just seven chalets and a Presidential Suite are available with open-air bath tubs and private gazebos overlooking the desert surrounds. 

Spend your days relaxing around the swimming pool, indulging in a massage or catching up on your holiday reading with a book from the library. Head off on a walking safari or a day and night game drive to spot desert elephants, black rhino, lion, giraffe, gemsbok, and endemic Hartmann’s mountain zebra. Learn about the traditions of the semi-nomadic Himba tribes that the lodge supports with school projects, hospitality training and water deliveries. Other activities include bird watching and hiking in the Hoarusib Valley.

Dining:
Enjoy a blend of Italian and African cuisine in one of two dining rooms or under the stars in a traditional boma. Ingredients are sourced from the lodge’s organic garden and fresh baked goods are served every day.
