Wolwedans Dune Lodge

This desert lodge is perched on top of 250 metre high dunes and makes the most of the desert savannah views from just about every vantage point

Wolwedans Dune Lodge is an intimate lodge with just nine chalets and a suite overlooking a watering hole where desert-adapted wildlife come to drink. Made up of wood and canvas, the safari lodge blends into the surrounds and is the perfect place to enjoy a Namibian wildlife safari.

Wolwedans Dune Lodge is set up high on the dunes within the 500,000 acre NamibRand Nature Reserve and offers exceptional views of a quiet watering hole and the red sandy savannah. With just nine safari tents, the lodge offers an intimate desert experience sleeping just 12 people at any given time. The safari tents are all located on raised wooden platforms and offer their own private viewing decks and en-suite bathrooms. The lodge is nothing if not romantic where you can enjoy sundowners around the campfire and candlelit dinners under the stars. The main tent has a communal lounge and dining area with an open-plan kitchen where you can watch the chef prepare meals. 

Nature walks, horse rides, hot air balloon rides, scenic flights and game drives are just a few ways to discover the wildlife and landscapes within the borders of the nature reserve. Common sightings include gemsbok, springbok, kudu, hartebeedt and baboon while leopard, hyena, black-backed jackal, aardwolf, bat-eared fox, caracal and recently re-introduced cheetah make the occasional appearance. All stays include a day safari with a picnic lunch.
