This 10 day private tour of Cambodia takes you on a discovery of the country's highlights, from the temples of Angkor Wat to the busy capital city, Phnom Penh. Spend time on the coast and enjoy the laid-back vibes of Kep from your stylish beach resort and finish off with a truly unique experience staying at a floating eco-lodge to explore the Tatai River.


Day 1: Arrival in Siem Reap

You'll be met and welcomed at Siem Reap airport by your local guide and transferred to your hotel for check in. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the facilities of your hotel, or head out and explore the town.

Day 2: Angkor temples with picnic lunch

Angkor temples with picnic lunch

You'll meet your guide this morning and set off for Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring the most extraordinary towers and bas-reliefs and a highlight of any trip to Cambodia. This is one of the most astonishing monuments ever conceived by mankind, and was erected in the 12th century in honor of Vishnu. After you've explored Angkor Wat pay a visit to the ancient Ta Prohm monastery where immense branches have taken root in the stones. Beyond the impressive vegetation you will find some splendid sculptured Devatas. From the temple, travel by private vehicle (or possibly on a cow cart) to a remote, untouched temple where your private picnic lunch will be set up and waiting. Here you can relax under the trees with a soothing foot massage before starting your afternoon temple exploration. You'll visit the Great City of Angkor Thom beginning at the south gate and the famous Bayon temple. Dedicated to Buddhism, Bayon consists of 54 gigantic towers featuring 216 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara. Then, cross to the Elephant Terrace which, at 350m long, was used as a giant viewing stand for public ceremonies. Next, move to the raised terrace of the Leper King, which bears many beautifully sculptured Apsara statues. After spending the whole day among the temples, head back to your hotel in the city.

Day 3: Siem Reap to Phnom Penh

Siem Reap to Phnom Penh

Relax and enjoy your final morning in Siem Reap until it's time for your transfer to for your short flight to Phnom Penh. On arrival in Phnom Penh you'll be met and transfer to your hotel for check in. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 4: Phnom Penh sightseeing

Today you will take a city tour of Phnom Penh, starting with a visit to the Royal Palace built in 1866 by King Norodom and comprising different structures grouped together in one enclosure. These house a remarkable collection of Khmer art. Here you’ll find the Silver Pagoda whose key works include a golden Buddha encrusted with 9584 diamonds and weighing 90kgs, and a Buddha featuring emeralds and Baccarat crystal dating from the 17th century. Next, you'll visit Toul Sleng, an ancient school which was used as a prison under the Khmers Rouges time. Its a sobering visit but an important part of Cambodia's history. This afternoon, enjoy some free time at your leisure.

Day 5: Pepper Plantation visit and Kep

Pepper Plantation visit and Kep

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart to Kep (3.5 - 4 hour transfer). This area of Southern Cambodia (Kep and Kampot in particular) are internationally famous for their world class pepper and here you'll get to visit one of the plantations. You'll visit a beautiful local farm run by friendly people with a passion of sharing their experience. You will be welcomed by your host and receive explanations about the techniques of growing and harvesting pepper. You can walk through the gardens and see the pepper on the shrubs as well as the assorted peppercorns drying in the sun. Your host will explain to you the characteristics of the different types and you'll have the chance to try them in order to compare them for yourself. After your visit, return to Kep to check in to your beachfront hotel.

Day 6: Countryside discovery by tuk tuk

Countryside discovery by tuk tuk

Kep is not only famous for their world-class pepper, their fresh seafood and beautiful coastline sunsets, they also have beautiful countryside surroundings with spectacular nature, picturesque fishing villages, plantations, rivers, rapids and lovely local people! During this private tour by local tuk tuk you will have the chance to experience all the beauty of this coastal region and learn more about local products and indulge into the slow-paced village life! Your local English-speaking tuk tuk driver will take you on a half day ride and will be more than happy to introduce you to the exceptional sites of Kep. Return to your resort in the afternoon and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 7: Kep to Koh Kong

In the afternoon, say goodbye to Kep and transfer to Koh Kong (4 hour transfer). Nestled between the coastline and the jungle and hosts many remarkable natural sites, the province is becoming more and more ecotourism oriented and is far from the touristy bustle of Sihanoukville and Siem Reap. On arrival you'll transfer by boat to the charming 4 Rivers Floating Lodge that floats on a tranquil river, in un-spoilt surroundings. Day 8 - 9: Explore 4 Rivers Floating Eco Lodge

Explore 4 Rivers Floating Eco Lodge

You'll have two full days to explore your surroundings in Koh Kong. Relax and take it easy as you watch the river life go by by from the deck of your private floating tent. Or, if you're up for something more active, there are no shortage of excursions on offer to explore the rich, natural beauty of the Tatai River. You could head to the beautiful waterfall by boat, take a kayaking adventure along the river or venture in to the unique mangroves to meet the fishing families of the local Koh Kong villages. As the sun sets, you'll be treated to a menu of traditional Khmer cuisine at the floating 4 Rivers Restaurant. Similar to Thai but with its own distinctive flavor thanks to the ancient Khmer locals who have mastered the blending of herbs and spices in their meals.

Day 10: Depart Phnom Penh

Depart Phnom Penh

After breakfast, check out and transfer by boat to the main land. Take a private car transfer back to Phnom Penh Airport for your departure flight (5 hour transfer). We recommend booking a later on wards flight or talk to us about adding additional accommodation in Phnom Penh.
