This self-drive tour sees you start in cosmopolitan Singapore for two nights before spending time in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Malacca. Explore Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur on a half day city tour and relax in the Cameron Highlands. End your trip with three nights in Penang with its colonial and heritage architecture and wildlife-abundant nature reserves.

Day 1

Arrival into Singapore

Touch down into Singapore’s Changi International Airport where you’ll be met by your English speaking guide and transferred to the St Regis Singapore. This five star hotel is located on the famous Orchard Road in the city’s premier shopping district. Expect signature St Regis Butler Service and excellent facilities including a tropical swimming pool and Remède Spa.

Day 2

Singapore City Tour

After breakfast head out to explore the city on half day tour. Start with a leisurely cruise along the Singapore River on a traditional bumboat, ending at Merlion Park. Continue with a drive around the Civic District passing Parliament House, the Supreme Court and City Hall. Make a stop in Chinatown to The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum before ending at the National Orchid Garden set within the Singapore Botanic Garden.

The rest of the day can be spent how you choose. Go shopping along Orchard Road, head back to Chinatown or head on to Little India or view the ‘super tree structures’ at the Garden by the Bay. Make sure you find time to sample this city-state’s most iconic dish: chilli crab!

Day 3

Singapore - Malacca

Be picked up from your hotel and drive to Malacca in the southern region of Malaysia. This former 15th century trading port has UNESCO World Heritage listed city centre, historic architecture and a bustling night market. Check into your hotel and spend the day at your leisure – we suggest a walk along the famous Jonker Street with its antiques, textiles and handicrafts stores.

Day 4

Malacca - Kuala Lumpur

Take a walking tour through Malacca starting at the Malacca River and docks crowded with Indonesian sailing perahus and wooden barges. Visit the Town Square with its Dutch buildings in terracotta red, the clock tower and Historical Musuem. Continue on to St. Paul’s Hill and the ruins of the Portuguese Fort.

After lunch you’ll head to the Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, stroll along Jonker Street and the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia. End your tour with a cruise on the Malacca River. Following your cruise, depart for Kuala Lumpur arriving in the evening.

Day 5

Kuala Lumpur Cultural Tour

Discover insights into Malaysia’s multi-cultural society on a half day Cultural and Heritage Tour. You’ll have the chance to see Clan Houses, pre-war buildings in China Town and the Hindu Temple Sri Maha Mariamman. Continue on for the Jamek Mosque and Sultan Abdul Samad Building. The rest of the day is yours to spend how you wish.

Day 6

Kuala Lumpur - Cameron Highlands

Pick up your hire car and drive into the Cameron Highlands, winding your way up the road to your hotel, the boutique Lakehouse Cameron Highlands. Relax in your room or sip a whiskey at the Cameron Bar. Keep in mind that evenings can be cool, so remember to pack a jumper!

Day 7

Cameron Highlands - Penang

Following breakfast and check out, drive north to the island of Penang, crossing the lengthy 13.5 kilometre Penang Bridge connecting the island to the mainland. Arrive at The Blue Mansion for a three night stay. This boutique property was originally built in the 18th century and is a feat of traditional yet eclectic architecture with cast iron balusters, timber lattices and stained glass. Your cosy room is furnished with antiques and artwork yet features modern conveniences including air conditioning and an iPod docking station.

Day 8


Today is free for you to explore Penang at your own pace. Walk the streets of the island’s capital, George Town, a World Heritage Site. Walk round the city taking in the street art; the murals were first created by a backpacker before being embraced by local artists – discover them yourself or head off on a guided tour. Wander the streets lined with an eclectic mixture of British Colonial and Asian Heritage-style buildings, learn about Penang’s history with a visit to the Penang State Museum and see century of history represented at the ‘Clan Jetties’.

Day 9


Make the most of your car hire with a full day’s exploration of Penang. Head out of George Town to Penang National Park – just 15 minutes’ drive and free entry! Go hiking through the rainforest keeping your eyes peeled for local wildlife including monkeys, escape to Monkey Beach where you can lay on the sands or walk along the Pantai Kerachut Path leading to a turtle sanctuary. For something a little more cultural, visit the Kek Lok Si Temple, the largest Buddhist Temple in South East Asia and home to 200 metre stone statues. You’ll also have an excellent view over George Town from the plateau.

Day 10

Return Flight

Your hire car will be collected from the hotel in the morning; sit down for one final breakfast before checking out and transferring to Penang Airport for your return flight.
