Itinerary

Day 1

UK to Toronto

Arrive into vibrant Toronto. Canada’s largest city is fun and incredibly walkable, and its location on the shores of Lake Ontario creates a fresh and open feeling.

Day 2

Toronto

Climb aboard the hop-on hop-off bus tour and discover the distinct neighbourhoods and famous sights of this great city. Linger in each area as long as you like before reboarding the bus and heading to the next stop. Your ticket also includes a fabulous boat tour of Toronto Harbour – the best chance to snap Toronto’s iconic skyline.

Day 3

Niagara Falls

Enjoy a full day tour to this wonder of the natural world. The incredible Horseshoe Falls have to be seen to be believed and there is no shortage of ways to view them. Walk along the Parkway promenade and then choose to either enter the caves on the Journey Behind the Falls or board the Hornblower boat to float into the mist of the falls. Return to Toronto and enjoy the city’s flourishing food scene.

Days 4-7

Toronto to Jasper

Depart Toronto in the evening and relax in your cabin ahead of the epic journey westward. Settle into the gentle rhythm of the rails as you pass the Great Lakes, cross the prairies of Manitoba and enter the mighty Rocky Mountains, stepping off the train in Jasper and heading to your mountain hotel.

Day 8

Jasper National Park

Today join a guided tour along one of Canada’s most scenic highways.  The Icefields Parkway passes rushing rivers, sparkling waterfalls and dramatic snow-capped peaks so your tour builds in plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs. The highlight of the day is your stop at the mighty Athabasca Glacier where you have the opportunity to buy tickets to ride the Ice Explorer, a specially modified vehicle that can transport you onto the glacier.

Days 9-10

Jasper to Vancouver

Back on board the Via Rail train you will continue your journey through the Rocky Mountains. After spending a final night on the rails your train will descend through British Columbia’s rolling farmland to the city on the Pacific: Vancouver.

Day 11

Vancouver

Spend a day at leisure in this pleasant and friendly city. Catch a bus to the markets at Granville Island, hire bikes and search for beavers in Stanley Park and discover the city’s burgeoning craft brewing scene.

Day 12

Victoria

Enjoy a day tour to discover Vancouver Island’s quaint and colonial city, Victoria. Departing your Vancouver hotel by coach, enjoy a stunning ferry crossing through the Gulf Islands to Victoria. Visit the beautiful Butchart Gardens and enjoy some free time to explore Victoria’s picturesque Inner Harbour. For the return journey you will climb aboard one of the floatplanes that connect these communities for an incredibly scenic flight back to Vancouver offering stunning views of Victoria, Vancouver and the Gulf Islands.

Day 13

Vancouver to UK

After a final morning enjoying the city and reflecting on your epic cross-country journey it is time to take a taxi back to the airport for your flight home.
