Bellagio itself is known as the ‘Pearl of the Lake’ for good reason, a place where the great and the good of Hollywood have long flocked to, and the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni fits into this illustrious surrounding just perfectly. Much of the external attraction is down to the property’s position, dramatically perched over the point where Como splits in half, with an abundance of opulent villas and breath-taking gardens within your eyeline, night and day. Villa Serbelloni is certainly as elegant as the best of them, with its Neoclassical design and Mediterranean gardens – and with a Michelin-starred chef onsite, you’ll be hard pressed to find better food, too. If you can tear yourself away from the shores of the lake, the city of Como is well-worth a visit, though in truth it is all-too-easy to while away the hours submerged in the hotel’s outdoor infinity pool, or unwinding in the decadent spa.
