Generally, luxury hotels charge 15 MAD a night, City tax is also approximately 15 MAD a night, all together approximately 30 MAD which equates to £3 per person per night. This excludes children under 12 years of age.

A country of mesmerizing cities, vast deserts and soaring mountains, you’ll never have trouble finding something to keep you busy in Morocco. Practice your bartering skills in the city souks, soak up the smells of the tanneries and relax with a visit to a traditional hammam. You can hike in the Atlas Mountains, go wind or kite surfing in the coastal town of Essaouira and spend an evening in the Sahara Desert, trekking the dunes on a camel, sliding down them as you go dune surfing or simply staring up at the night’s sky.

Morocco Food & Drink

Moroccan cuisine is inspired and influenced by the flavours, spices and cooking traditions of the Berbers, ArabicAndalucia, Turkey and the Middle East. A staple for any home-cooked meal is couscous piled high with vegetables and meat while the country’s famed tajines are slow cooked in an earthenware pot. As a Muslim country alcohol is not always readily present but any street café will serve traditional mint tea, poured from a silver teapot and sweetened with sugar.

The rugged beauty of the Atlas Mountains and red-coloured dunes of the Sahara Desert are Morocco’s most stunning natural attractions. In the cities, the walled medinas with their winding, maze-like streets are a ‘must visit’ – the walls of Chefchaouen a painted a brilliant sky blue. Tour the roman ruins of Volubilis high upon a hilltop where unearthed mosaics, crumbling columns and remnants of temples await. And relive your favourite movie scene at Ait Ben Haddou, an orange-hued fortress where Gladiator and Games of Thrones were partially filmed.
