Day 1: Cape Town

Fly into Cape Town International, transfer to Victoria & Alfred Hotel

Your adventure begins with your arrival in Cape Town. After a meet and greet at the airport, you’ll take a private transfer to your accommodation for the next three nights, the Victoria & Alfred Hotel, a beautiful combination of history and modern luxury. This iconic hotel is located in the heart of Cape Town and provides a sophisticated retreat amid the city’s buzz, with enviable views of the harbour, Table Mountain and the city beyond. The surrounding area has great shopping and entertainment opportunities, and the famous Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island is within 250 metres of the hotel.

Private Full-Day 'Cape Point' Tour

On your second day you’ll head out on a private full-day tour, whisking you around the rugged and beautiful Cape Peninsula. Full-Day Private Winelands Tour

On the fourth day of your trip you’ll leave Cape Town behind as you tour the Cape Winelands. Among the most picturesque vineyard regions in the world, you’ll enjoy views of lush green valleys and craggy mountains, fine cuisine, and world-class wine-producing estates. These historic estates, characterized by distinctive Cape Dutch-style buildings with thatched roofs and massive vineyards, date back centuries. Discover the most popular and charming wine estates at the small towns of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl – and be sure to sample a little of the local produce for yourself!

For the next two nights, you’ll stay at Franschhoek Country House & Villas. A restored manor house and former perfumery, it’s situated on the outskirts of Franschhoek and is surrounded by enchanting vineyards and majestic mountains. Almost all rooms lead out onto private balconies or private patios with magnificent views. During summer, guests can relax at the two pools with beautiful mountain vistas, visit the boutique wine-farms in Franschhoek, or stroll in the gorgeous town.

Day 4: Cape Winelands

Transfer from Franschhoek to Cape Town Station, to begin the journey towards Pretoria

Travel towards Pretoria

After a relaxing and scenic morning of eating, drinking and soaking up the magnificent views through the windows, in the early afternoon you’ll arrive at Kimberley Open Mine Museum for a tour of the mine. The charming tour takes in the cowboy-esque mining town, plus a visit to the largest man-made hole on earth. After, you’ll return to the splendid comfort of the Blue Train for more fine dining while incredible vistas pass beyond the windows.

Day 8: Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria

Arrive in Pretoria and transfer to Waterkloof Ridge

After a leisurely morning and afternoon of dining and taking in the beautiful and ever-changing landscapes of South Africa, at 6pm you’ll arrive in South Africa’s capital city, Pretoria. There you’ll transfer to your accommodation for the evening: Castello Di Monte, a 5-star guest house on a beautifully landscaped, Tuscan-style estate offering spectacular views. Enjoy the multi-level gardens with a pool, sun terrace, a cocktail bar, and massages arranged upon request.

Day 8: Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria

Days 9-11: Thornybush Nature Reserve

Transfer to airport, flight from Pretoria to Thornybush Nature Reserve

This is where things get wild. Transferring from your accommodation to the vast Thornybush Nature Reserve, this section of the trip is where you can expect to get to grips with real, raw nature and view some of the planet’s most majestic animals in their natural habitat.

Staying at the luxurious Thornybush Game Lodge for three nights, you’ll set out on morning and afternoon game drives with knowledgeable local guides to spot leopards, lions, elephants, water buffalo, rhinos and more incredible animals as they hunt, play, and roam the open savannah. On foot safaris are also on offer, providing you with an amazing sensory experience in the wild.
