Built in the 1700s, Grande Roche has been restored as a boutique hotel with only 35 rooms and suites.
The Grande Roche Hotel offers a choice of luxury suites with additional suites available on request. Each room offers the following:
The Studio Suites are situated in the restored coach and carriage houses of the estate. They have a spacious lounge/bedroom with their own semi-private garden terrace with a magnificent view of the Drakenstein mountains. One of the rooms is fully equipped for disabled guests.
The Duplex Suites are transformed from the old slave quarters on the estate and have names that reflect their Dutch colonial past: Java, Jasmijn, Batavia, Malabaar and Koljanner. The ground floor of each suite has a spacious lounge, where extra beds can be made up to accommodate families. Upstairs the large bedroom boasts twin or king bed configuration with views across the gardens.
The Terrace Suites are situated in groups of three, scattered around the estate. All are built in the original Cape colonial style with thatched roofs, shutters and vines over the private outdoor terrace. They have a lounge and amazing views from each room.
The Garden Suite was once the original farm stable. It offers a combination of luxury, romance and rustic charm with a lounge, bedroom with king-sized bed, bathroom with double shower and spa bath, private sun terrace and separate enclosed patio.
