Kyaninga Lodge

Perched on the carter rim overlooking the blue waters of Lake Kyaninga, Kyaninga Lodge took seven years and over a thousand hand-carved logs to build. Connected by elevated wooden walkways, the main lodge leads to two decks with sunloungers while steps cut into volcanic rock lead down to the swimming pool and onto two grassy terraces overlooking the lake and the valley below. Take time to admire the stunning gardens created by landscape designer, Imogen Jenkins, which include one of the only grass tennis courts and croquet lawns in all of Uganda. Each of the eight cottages is set apart for privacy. They have their own en-suite bathroom with claw-footed bathtubs and private balcony with a choice of a view over the lake or the Mountains of the Moon. The cottages are solar-powered and offer hypoallergenic pillows and bedding on request.
