Entry rules in response to coronavirus (COVID-19)

Entry to Zimbabwe

If you wish to extend or renew visas or permits, you must do so via the relevant Government of Zimbabwe department.

Testing/screening on arrival

Tourists and returning residents entering Zimbabwe must possess a negative COVID-19 test result, issued no more than 48 hours before their departure to Zimbabwe. Tourists who do not present a valid negative PCR test certificate will be denied entry. Returning residents who do not present a valid negative PCR test certificate will be required to quarantine for 10 days at their own cost.

Zimbabwe has announced its intention to use the African Union Trusted Travel process for validating COVID-19 tests for passengers. All passengers arriving in, departing from or transiting Zimbabwe should validate their COVID-19 RT PCR test via the African Union Trusted Travel or UNDP Global Haven systems (you will need to register an account on one of these sites). These systems will generate a digital Trusted Travel reference code for your test, which should be presented upon request.

You should not use the NHS testing service to get a test in order to facilitate your travel to another country. You should arrange to take a private test.

Check with your carrier before flying to confirm any additional requirements.

Quarantine requirements

Fully vaccinated tourists and returning residents in possession of a valid negative PCR test certificate, issued no more than 48 hours before their departure to Zimbabwe, are not required to quarantine on arrival.

Returning residents arriving without a valid negative PCR test certificate will be required to quarantine for 10 days at their own cost.

Data collection

You will be required to complete track and trace information on arrival in Zimbabwe.

Exiting Zimbabwe

On leaving Zimbabwe, you will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR certificate, issued no more than 48 hours prior to boarding your flight. All passengers arriving in, departing from or transiting Zimbabwe should validate their COVID-19 RT PCR test via the African Union Trusted Travel or UNDP Global Haven systems (you will need to register an account on one of these sites).
