Chateau Yering Hotel

Ratings

Step back in time at this grand Victorian-era estate nestled amid the rolling vineyards and mist-quilted hillsides of Victoria’s enchanting Yarra Valley, set close to Melbourne.

Housed within a historic, Victorian-era-built mansion dating to the 1850s, the Chateau Yering Hotel carries the quiet romance and nostalgia of a bygone era, with wraparound verandas, antique furnishings, polished wood interiors and tranquil ornate gardens overlooking the valley’s vineyards towards the distant mountains of the Great Dividing Range.

Enfolded by soft hillsides and surrounded by picturesque vineyards, the Chateau Yering Hotel opens a window onto the past. Bucolic tranquillity and old-world elegance combine to create a deeply atmospheric setting, with great care having gone into maintaining the original building’s character and feel. Inside, each of the 32 stylish suites is individually designed, melding period charm with modern comfort and with features including ornate fireplaces, deep bathtubs and high ceilings bathed in natural light.

Chateau Yering Hotel’s cuisine is award-winning; held in the elegant dining room of Eleonore’s Restaurant, you can indulge in richly flavoured recipes while savouring the beautiful views over the vineyards and surrounding countryside, with glamorous High Tea held every Saturday and Sunday from 14:00. From the 250-acre estate, you can enjoy wine tastings at some of Australia’s most acclaimed wineries or soar above the verdant landscapes in a hot air balloon before retiring for an evening spent in the plushly decorated guest lounge or beside a crackling fireplace in the library as dusk settles over the Yarra Valley.
