Hougoumont Hotel is a boutique, small-room hotel in the heart of Fremantle, creatively designed using repurposed shipping containers.
An award-winning boutique hotel, Hougoumont Hotel combines contemporary design with odes to Fremantle’s rich seafaring heritage. Innovatively constructed rooms are built from recycled shipping containers, giving the hotel a stylish industrial-chic aesthetic, while thoughtful touches include complimentary wine and cheese receptions in the evening plus warm, personalised service throughout your stay in Fremantle.
About Hougoumont Hotel
Named after the last convict ship to arrive in Western Australia, Fremantle’s maritime heritage is infused throughout the Hougoumont Hotel, an award-winning boutique property. Contemporary architecture and innovative design, the hotel features rooms built from old shipping containers plus custom-designed furniture from celebrated designer Yoshio Takagi. Enjoy daily continental breakfasts and evening wine and cheese receptions as part of your bill, while next door, you’ll find Hougoumont Hotel’s very own nano-brewery and bar, Calamity’s Rod. Here you can enjoy a range of home-brewed beer along with pizza and snacks in a vibrant courtyard setting. You can also enjoy special privileges at the hotel’s sister property’s dining venue, Sailing for Oranges, which serves Iberian-inspired food and drink.
