Killarney Lodge in Algonquin Provincial Park provides a relaxing retreat in the heart of Canada’s untamed wilderness. The park itself is a haven for wildlife, and the perfect place in which to unwind. Killarney Lodge has been privately owned and run since the 1930s and offers a sanctuary from everyday life. There is a pay phone on-site, and a designated Wi-Fi hotspot, but other than these two concessions to modernity, guests can expect a true peace and quiet.

About Killarney Lodge

Individual log cabins dot the shoreline of the Lake of Two Rivers and Beaver House Bay, while the main building provides a place to hang out around the wood burning stove in the lounge. Each cabin comes with a deck to enjoy the view, and a private canoe to explore in.

Killarney Lodge provides three meals a day all of which are served in the main lodge. Packed lunches can also be provided for when guests want to spend the day taking in the magic of the Canadian wilderness. The dining room is warm, welcoming and yet elegant, while the food gives a refined twist to classic, country dining. Dishes will vary according to what is in season but always include a vegetarian option.

There are complimentary hot and cold beverages, snacks such as home baked cookies, and fruit available in the lounge area of the main lodge throughout the day. The hotel also has a ‘tuck shop’ where guests can buy snacks, drinks, ice, and small treats for the squirrels and chipmunks who call the hotel grounds home. The hotel does not have an alcohol license so there is no alcohol available for purchase, but guests are welcome to bring their own bottles, which the lodge can store and keep cool for you. There is no corkage fee.

The hotel’s grounds and gardens are a mixture of colourful flowers and tree life and provide the perfect place to take in the peace and quiet
All cabins come with a personal canoe from which the lake can easily be explored
The hotel is TV and radio free, and offers guests a practically off-grid experience, should they so wish it (although there is a pay phone, and cell phone service for most major Canadian cell phone providers)
Children are welcome, but the hotel does not provide babysitting services
Parking is available alongside cabins
