St Lucia in the Caribbean Sea is an island with two distinctively different halves. In the south of the island is Soufriere, with old sugar cane plantations, some wonderful secluded beaches and the Pitons, two huge volcanic plugs that are over 700 feet high. To the north of the island is the photogenic Rodney Bay with its luxury resorts, beaches and marinas. St Lucia travel deals provide all the expected Caribbean attractions. Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival 2024

Between April 30 and May 12 2024, the yearly Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival will bring some added zest to the island, featuring a lineup of renowned musicians from across the island and further afield.

From classic jazz to world beats, the festival attracts thousands of visitors annually, with travellers flocking here to enjoy the irresistible rhythms of Afro beats, jazz, rock, gospel, Soca, reggae and more.

As well as the facilities available at Saint Lucia's luxury resorts, you'll find a wide range of activities to enjoy on the island. La Toc Beach, Labrellotte Bay, Anse Mamin and Smugglers Cove make for a great day out if you plan on doing some swimming and sunbathing. Alternatively, sign up for a ride on a rainforest aerial tram and if you are feeling adventurous you can also zip-line through the treetops! There are also ATV tours available across the island. These allow you to explore the rugged landscape on a quad bike with a guide leading the way. Nightlife centres on Rodney Bay Village where you'll find clubs and bars and there is a street party every Friday in Gros Islet. Whatever your preference when it comes to activities on holiday, you'll find everything in Saint Lucia.

Saint Lucia Food & Drink

In Saint Lucia, the local cuisine combines the sophistication of French cooking with zingy West Indian flavours. When dining out, look for langouste on the menu which is locally caught, spiny lobster that resides on the island's shores, cooked in a range of ways. You should also sample the national dish of green figs and saltfish which features unripe bananas and saltfish (typically cod) and is usually served with cabbage and pickled peppers. The island is also renowned for its cocoa, so be sure to tuck into cocoa tea and bread for breakfast one morning. Saint Lucia Attractions

The island's drive-in volcano is perhaps its most popular attraction. You'll find this tourist hotspot located on the southwestern side of the island and there are a range of tours and excursions to sign up for to experience this incredible natural site - with viewing platforms overlooking the natural springs that surround the formation. Take the Sulphur Springs tour on the southwestern side of the island, where you can watch the hot mud bubbling up from the earth and end with bathing in the fun mud pools - kids love it. Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens are another intriguing attraction, ideal for a day trip. Here you'll find a mesmerising array of flora and fauna that thrives in the island's humid climate as well as calming waterfalls and incredible wildlife such as hummingbirds and reptiles.
