Luxury Tobago holidays feature horseback riding, mountain biking and off road tours by motorbike or jeep in parts of the island that are off the beaten track. Play golf or relax in one of the many wellness centres with spas. Diving, snorkelling and sailing are very popular and there are some lovely spots for surfing. Beaches have either clean white sands or darker volcanic versions and the bays are plentiful.

A blend of culinary influences from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, India and China results in the flavours and tastes of the food and drink you experience on your luxury Tobago holidays. Lobster, barbecued pig-tail and burgers made from tuna steak or beef are delightful. Roti is the national staple - a type of bread that originated in Eastern India, often served in different ways. Other typical dishes include curried crab and dumplings and coconut water makes for a refreshing drink.

The Botanical Gardens sweep over 10 acres of the island and contain tropical delights for nature lovers. For iguanas, birds and butterflies head to Arnos Vale where you can also pick and eat your own fruit at the Adventure Farm and Nature Reserve. Hikers can explore Grafton Caledonia Wildlife Sanctuary where some of the birds are still fed daily by hand. For a cool swim with a difference head to the pretty waterfall near Roxborough - a great freshwater change from ocean bathing.
