Day 1: Delhi

Arrive in Delhi

Upon your arrival in Delhi, India’s sprawling capital city, you will be greeted by a local representative and transferred to your hotel in a comfortable private vehicle.

Delhi is an enchanting combination of ancient roots, colonial influences and a modern skyline, its soaring skyscrapers spread amid the remnants of numerous bygone eras that stand as poignant reminders of the region’s ancient legacy.

Once you arrive at your hotel, the rest of the day will be yours to spend at leisure.

Old Delhi City Tour

After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll embark on a comprehensive exploration of Old Delhi’s cultural heritage sites. Enjoy a rollicking rickshaw ride through the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk, visiting Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques and a masterpiece of Mughal architecture. This awe-striking mosque’s grandeur is reflected in its vast courtyard and imposing red sandstone structure, standing as a testament to the might of the Mughal Empire.

After stopping for lunch at the beautiful Haveli Dharampura, you’ll visit Bangla Sahib, a place of great spiritual significance for India’s Sikh community. Next, you’ll visit Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which pierces the sky with its 73-metre-high sandstone tower, before returning to your hotel for a sumptuous dinner.

The morning is yours to enjoy at leisure, making the most of your hotel’s excellent facilities.

As evening falls, you’ll proceed to the bustling Khan Market, located in the heart of New Delhi. The Khan Market is a vibrant shopping destination renowned for its high-end boutiques, eclectic shops and diverse culinary outlets.

Return Train Journey to Agra, Agra Fort, Taj Mahal at Sunset

Early in the morning, you will board a train taking you to Agra, a city rich with remnants of the Mughal Empire.

In Agra, you’ll visit the formidable Agra Fort, once the seat and stronghold of the Mughal Empire and a testament to its imperial might and architectural grandeur.

As evening begins its descent over the evocative landscapes of Northern India, you will head to what is arguably India’s most iconic heritage site: the Taj Mahal. Take in the breathtaking beauty of this gleaming marble structure and its intricate Mughal-era design as the setting sun casts a golden haze over the land, the flowing waters of the Yamuna River running behind this awe-striking building whose beauty is nothing short of spellbinding.

After witnessing the unforgettable spectacle of the Taj Mahal at sunset, you’ll board the train back to Delhi and return to your hotel.

Day 4: Agra

Day 5: Jaipur

Transfer to Jaipur, Visits to City Palace & Laxmi Narayan Temple

Following a replenishing breakfast, you will be driven to the airport to board your scheduled flight to Jaipur, the land of the Rajputs. An explosion of colour, dance and tradition, Jaipur is known as the ‘Pink City’ for the many pink buildings which dot its streets, while it is also home to opulent ancient forts and palaces from the days of the Rajput.

Arriving in Jaipur, you’ll meet your driver at the airport and transfer to your hotel to check in. Later, you will head out on a journey of cultural discover in Jaipur. First, you’ll visit the ornate City Palace, a beautiful blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture and home to exquisite courtyards, meticulously detailed palaces and a remarkable museum.

Next to the City Palace stands the Laxmi Narayan Temple (also known as Birla Mandir), a Hindu temple that features intricate carvings and a serene atmosphere. Explore these two stunning landmarks for an insight into Jaipur’s rich cultural heritage.

Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal & High Tea at Rambagh Palace

You’ll begin the morning with a visit to the magnificent Amer Fort, built in the 16th century and set atop the Aravalli Hills overlooking the city of Jaipur. A stunning example of traditional Rajput architecture, within the fort’s high walls you can explore palaces, courtyards and gardens for a glimpse into a rich epoch in India’s history.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory built by the Maharaja of Jaipur. Then, you’ll head to the wondrous Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), built in the 18th century and one of the most arresting architectural marvels across Northern India. Afterwards, you can browse the many facets of traditional Jaipuri handicrafts such as precious jewels, richly coloured fabrics, woven carpets and more, watching local artisans at work.

Later in the evening, you’ll indulge in a high tea experience at the elegant Rambagh Palace, a former residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur now repurposed into a luxury heritage hotel. Located in the heart of Jaipur, this glorious palace-turned-hotel boasts a luxurious ambience and fascinating heritage, while the high tea experience is a lavish affair featuring delectable treats and refreshments served in a regal setting.

Transfer to Jodhpur

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to Jodhpur, a historic city that lies within the arid landscape of the Thar Desert in northwest Rajasthan.

Upon your arrival in Jodhpur, you’ll be transferred from the airport to your hotel to check in before spending the rest of the day at leisure.

Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada & Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum

Begin the day with a visit to the imposing, 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort which looms above the city from the top of a hill. From here, you’ll be able to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the ‘Blue City’, Jodhpur’s warren-like Old Town where many of the buildings are painted in a striking blue colour. Heading inside Mehrangarh Fort’s enormous walls, you can explore its palaces, courtyards and museums to delve into the grandeur of the Rajput Dynasty that once ruled over these lands.

Adjacent to the fort stands the Jaswant Thada, an elegant memorial agleam with pristine white marble that was built by a Rajput ruler in memory of his father. Here you can admire intricate carvings, ornate lattice screens and tranquil surroundings as you discover the history of Jodhpur’s revered rulers.

You’ll also visit the grand Umaid Bhawan Palace, a Maharaja residence that is still partly occupied today by the creator of the palace’s descendant. A splendid example of the Indo-colonial architecture of the 1930s, the palace provides a fascinating insight into a bygone era.

In the evening, you can indulge in a sumptuous dinner (at own expense) at Khass Bagh, a heritage restaurant with vintage car displays.

Day 9: Jodhpur

Day 10: Narlai

Transfer to Narlai & Step Well Dinner Experience

After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to the 15th-century village of Narlai, a journey of approximately 2 hrs 30 mins. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your hotel, the Rawla Narlai Luxury Heritage Hotel, a grand 17th-century manor house converted into a luxury hotel.

In the evening at your hotel, a Step Well Dinner Experience will commence, combining culinary brilliance with local culture. Taste the rich flavours of authentic Rajasthani royal cuisine at the 16th-century Baori (Step Well) of Rawla Narlai. Gathering in the courtyard, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink with the royal resident while you adorn turbans and scarves before hopping aboard a bullock cart. Venturing into the smouldering light of dusk, watch the village slowly going to sleep and the starlit sky unfolding above you, passing a meditating yogi before reaching a thousand-year-old baori well aglow with flickering oil lamps.

You’ll then indulge in a royal feast, with an elaborate spread of royal Rajasthani dishes igniting your taste buds as local folk songs provide an atmospheric accompaniment. This enchanting experience concludes by returning to the hotel’s elegant courtyard by Jeep before unwinding with a cup of calming herbal tea.

Transfer to Udaipur & Ranakpur Jain Temple

After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on the scenic drive to the beautiful city of Udaipur, a journey of approximately 2 hrs 30 mins.

En route, you’ll stop at the intricately carved Ranakpur Jain Temple, built in the 15th century and one of the most important temples in Jain culture. Here you can explore the Chaumukha Temple, dedicated to Adinath, which features 28 halls and 1,444 pillars, along with two other notable Jain temples and a nearby Sun Temple.

Continuing the drive towards Udaipur, allow the beauty of the surroundings fill your senses as you absorb local scenes. Upon your arrival into this magical city, founded in the 16th century and formerly the capital of the mighty Mewar Kingdom, you will check into your hotel.

Half-Day Sightseeing Tour & Boat Ride on Lake Pichola

After breakfast, you’ll immerse yourself in the regal beauty of Udaipur as you embark on a Half-Day Sightseeing Tour. Begin at the majestic City Palace, home to intricate architecture and glorious views of the surrounding landscape.

As the sun sets, set sail with a boat ride across the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola, taking in beautiful scenes of the rolling Aravalli Hills and the ornate island palaces which dot the lake’s waters including the Taj Lake Palace, as featured in the 1983 James Bond film Octopussy.

After the memorable lake cruise, you’ll stop at the tranquil oasis of Jaswant Thada, a white-marble cenotaph built in commemoration of former Rajput ruler Maharaja Jaswant Singh II and serving as the cremation ground for the royal Rajput family of Marwar.
