Amalfi Coast & Capri Food & Drink

Regular boat trips up the coast and to the islands allow you visit the main towns for a bit or sightseeing, souvenir shopping and good food. Alternatively, charter your own yacht and explore to coast independently to find some hidden coves for a quick dip. For something more active take to the countryside and hike up Mount Vesuvius – it’s hard work so not for the faint hearted. Or for some downtime indulge in the island of Ischia’s thermal baths and sandy beaches.

Amalfi Coast & Capri Food & Drink

The ubiquitous lemons feature heavily in both food and drink – from the world famous limoncello to zingy pasta dishes – the size of the fruit has to be seen to be believed. Being a coastal region you cannot avoid the incredible fresh fish and seafood cooked to perfection with al dente pasta. On the island of Capri indulge in the typical Caprese salad, a combination of succulent tomatoes, refreshing basil and silky mozzarella. Don’t forget that pizza originated from just up the road in Naples so enjoy to your heart’s content!

The world famous sights of Pompeii and Herculaneum will live up to their reputation – the mind boggles at the scale of excavations, the forward-thinking Roman lives and the tragedy of so many lives lost. The Blue Grotto on Capri can only be accessed by wooden rowing boat and is a magical place as you pass from darkness into the sparkling cavern. Further inland is the hilltop town of Ravello with incredible sea views and the beautiful, historic Villa Cimbrone.
