About Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge

Perched directly on the banks of the Kinabatangan River, the rustic Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge is one of the best places to spot Borneo’s distinctive proboscis monkey. Luxury trappings are set aside here for the simplicity of jungle living – and unbeatable wildlife spotting opportunities! Days are spent cruising up and down the river and smaller tributaries in search of wildlife including pygmy elephants, while wild orangutan and red leaf monkey are frequently spotted from the jungle trails around the lodge. During your stay you’ll have the chance to visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre – two ‘must do’ experiences for any trip to Sabah.

Best at Travel recommends booking a two day package at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge to maximise wildlife spotting opportunities, though one night stays can be arranged – consider adding another lodge to extend the jungle experience!
