    We have been advised by the hotel of the following renovations taking place until 31 March 2027:

    Starting September this year, we will embark on an extensive renovation to further elevate our guests' experience and set new benchmarks in luxury hospitality.

    Our transformation will be rolled out in thoughtfully planned phases, allowing us to continue welcoming guests while we elevate every aspect of our offering – from our guest rooms and public spaces to our dining venues and wellness facilities. The result will be a refreshed, contemporary interpretation of luxury, designed to exceed the expectations of today’s discerning traveller.

    We are pleased to share that the details of the projects below:

    START DATE PROJECT 15 September 2025 
    Nine-month development of the new Tanjung Wing pool. The pool blends unprecedented luxury in an inspired outdoor setting with an unobstructed view of the world-famous Bornean sunset.

    24 September 2025
    Conversion of existing Wedding Planner to a new speciality restaurant located on the 1st floor. Expected to end by March 2026.
    The new restaurant will showcase innovative cuisine and modern design. 01 December 2025 Renovation of Tanjung Wing lobby and Borneo Lounge for 7 months.

    Expected to begin in Q2-2026

    Phase 2 refurbishment projects:
    Kinabalu Wing rooms and suites, Kinabalu Wing lobby, Health Club & gymnasium, Cool Zone Kids’ Club & Recreation Room, Hotel Shop, STAR Lounge, Infinity Pool, family and baby pools, Water Play Area (Clownfish Bay / Clownfish Cove), and Shang Palace.

    Expected end date for Phase 2: Q1-2027

    All other unaffected accommodations, facilities, and services remain fully operational. We are committed to maintaining our high standards of hospitality throughout this process.

    Guest comfort remains our top priority during the renovation. We will implement a carefully managed schedule to minimise disruption, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay for all visitors during this exciting transformation.

    Upon completion of the renovation, Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu, will emerge completely refreshed, boasting enhanced luxury and refined elegance.

    You should complete this before you travel as it may be requested at check-in. You do not need to complete the arrival form if you are not passing through immigration.
