After lunch onboard, you'll arrive at Merapoh Station and alight for a variety of extraordinary experiences in Taman Negara National Park. Formed 130 million years ago, it is one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world, its dense jungle, broad rivers and lush mountains home to diverse wildlife including water buffalo, macaque, tapir, hornbill and the Malayan tiger.

Choose from a range of excursions that include exploring the habitat of the critically endangered Malayan tiger (sightings are extremely rare) and meeting local activists who strive to protect their numbers. Alternatively, you can join a nature photographer and conservationist for a wonderful immersion in the rainforest, listening to the chant of gibbons as you learn to focus in on the jungle's beguiling details. Another option is to discover the mystical caves of the region, hopping from one to another by e-bike. Or, join a mindful wellness experience and choose from sunrise yoga, forest bathing and sound meditation.

After returning to the train, you'll have the rest of the afternoon to relax on board and take in the passing landscapes before sitting down for dinner.
