During these dates, there are restrictions on alcohol, food consumption, and entertainment for local Muslims between sunrise and sunset when they must fast. Restrictions vary dependent on which county you are visiting, for those travelling to Dubai the restrictions tend to be more relaxed, whereas Oman, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Qatar will be far stricter especially in relation to serving alcohol in public areas which includes hotel bars, restaurants and beside the pool. However, at nightfall there are many lively traditional celebrations known as Iftar, where hotels often arrange lavish buffet feasts. Whilst visitors are asked to respect these traditions, it is also a great time to see the real Middle East and experience local customs and it should not impact the enjoyment of your stay, for further information, please do check with your sales consultant.
