Majorca Activities

The fact that Majorca is an island means that the sea is a great source of activities; from all sorts of water sports, excellent spots for diving, a fishing trip or even chartering your own catamaran for trip around the island, there is something for everyone. Back on land take to the golf course and test your handicap or if you’re feeling particularly energetic why not explore the Tramuntana Mountains by mountain bike. If that’s not your idea of a holiday then there are plenty of quiet bays to enjoy lazing in the sun.

Majorca Food & Drink

Typical Majorcan cuisine is steeped in tradition and plays on local ingredients such as sun drenched lemons and fleshy olives. Traditionally unique dishes like arros brut with rice, meat and vegetables, and llom amb col, a typical local dish of pork loin wrapped in cabbage will be found in abundance but many other dishes based around pork, fish and vegetables with hearty helpings of garlic and olive oil can also be enjoyed. They haven’t forgotten their sweet tooth – you mustn’t miss the Majorcan equivalent of doughnuts - bunyols.

Majorca Attractions

The island has a real variety of attractions from La Seu, the magnificent, cavernous Gothic cathedral in Palma to the picturesque village of Deia considered a ‘foreign artists’ colony’ after the English poet and novelist Robert Graves made it his home. If wine is more your thing, take advantage of visiting one of the excellent vineyards to try the local tipple as it rarely leaves the island. For a fun day out with the family try one of the island’s waterparks for some more excitement.
