Nestled where the river meets the sea, tucked between golden sands, mangroves and coconut groves you’ll find Cinnamon Bentota Beach. Originally established in the 1960s by Geoffrey Bawa, the well-known Sri Lankan architect, the hotel still retains design elements from this period including brightly coloured batik panels on the lobby ceiling. Throughout the hotel there is plenty of polished wood and neutral tones contrasted with bold colours, while the collection of suites is individually designed. Though it would be oh-so-easy to simply relax beside the curved pool, there are plenty of activities on offer from excursions to local factories, boat trips and cycling beside the river to cultural classes at the Artisan Village and a host of watersports. And all the while, younger guests are entertained at the Kids’ Club with sports, board games, arts and crafts, a play area and much more!
