Koh Samui boasts a range of activities, with everything from strenuous sports to more relaxed pursuits. Visitors who enjoy being out on the water can experience kiteboarding, or complete a PADI course at a diving centre. Golf enthusiasts should check out one of the many courses, featuring sprawling and well-maintained stretches of lush green grass. Santiburi Samui Country Club is a popular choice for beginners and enthusiasts alike and is located on the north coast of the island. For those looking to immerse themselves in the natural wonders of Koh Samui, the Na Muang waterfalls are a splendid sight. Finally, if you're in need of some retail therapy then a visit to Nathon gives you the opportunity for a spot of bartering over locally made souvenirs.

The people of Thailand love to eat which means you'll find a variety of venues across the island to dine on fresh, local cuisine. For a beach location, Chaweng has Churrasco Steak House or the Spice Island for Thai dishes, and the quaint Sala Thai Restaurant at Lamai serves Italian and Thai cuisine. The island is filled with cultural and historical attractions, including the Wat Khunaram temple and the Buddha Footprints. You can also seek out the mummy of Leung Pordaeng in the Wat Khunaram temple, which has barely decayed over two decades. Hin Ta and Hin Yai rocks are another popular tourist spots and are said to represent two Romeo and Juliet style lovers who died there. If you want to enjoy the island's natural beauty, visit the Na Tian Butterfly Garden, which is packed with colourful species, or spend the day on one of the glorious beaches, such as the peaceful Thongson or the beautiful Chengmon.
