Thailand's Phi Phi Islands are a visual feast. Huge rocky outcrops partially covered in vegetation stand off from the beautiful coral sand beaches where the colourful fishing boats are pulled onto the shore. The beaches are backed by lush jungle vegetation. This natural beauty is the reason the islands are so often used as movie locations. The island of Phi Phi Leh has no permanent human residents but does have the beautiful Maya Bay that was featured in the movie The Beach. The island of Phi Phi Don has no roads. Because of that the islands are, to say the least, a laid-back holiday destination.
The excellent diving is why many visitors take the long trip to the Phi Phi Islands. Courses are available at several dive centres. For nightlife on your Phi Phi Islands holiday, head to the Phi Phi Reggae at Tonsai Village or the Sun Flower Beach Bar at the north end of Loch Dalum Bay.
