This tailor-made tour of Oman begins and ends in the country’s capital where tradition and modernity sit side-by-side. The itinerary ends with three nights in Muscat, giving you time to rest and relax after your time exploring some of Oman’s must-see attractions and sights.Muscat

Muscat
Today you’ll be taken on a city tour of Muscat, providing you with a chance to explore the sights of the capital where traditional culture meets modern-day metropolis. Start with a visit to the impressive Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque before an introduction to Oman’s history at the privately-owned Bait Al Zubair Museum. A drive along the Corniche gives you a chance to catch a glimpse of the harbour, with stops at two of the city’s best markets along the way – the Fish Souq and Muttrah Souq. Get snap-happy with photo-stops at the Al Alam Palace and 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali. Once your tour is over you’ll be returned to your hotel and have the afternoon to spend at your leisure, perhaps continuing with your sightseeing.
INCLUDES : Breakfast
Muscat – Nakhal – Bilad Sayt – Al Hamra
Leave city life behind as you drive to the traditional town of Nakhal, resting at the foot of the Hajar Mountains and famed for its flourishing date plantations fed by natural spring water. Here you’ll find a fort built around a rocky outcrop in the 1830s with excellent views over the Batinah Plain. Carry on along the steep, winding road through Wadi Bani Awf – not for the faint hearted! – that leads to the charming mountain village of Bilad Sayt with its collection of stone-and-mud buildings scattered along the slopes. You’ll then continue to drive the mountain road until you came to Al Hamra, where you’ll spend the night.
INCLUDES : Breakfast, Dinner
Al Hamra – Nizwa – Muscat
The first stop on today’s itinerary is the village of Nizwa, best known for its ancient Fort and Round Tower – we recommend climbing to the top of the tower – and its bustling souq filled with stalls selling pottery, silver jewellery and traditional daggers. Your driver will take you on to the pretty village of Birkat Al Mauz where you can take a quiet stroll through the date plantations; this is a well-known ‘leaping off’ point to hike or 4WD to Wadi Al Madeen – you’ll be doing the second option! After stretching your legs it’s time to get back on the road towards Jebel Al Akhdar, where fruit orchards, mountain-side villages and the scent of roses can found aplenty. Finally, you’ll return to Muscat. Please note, we recommend wearing light clothing and walking shoes on this day.
