This eight day tour is a fantastic way to discover the fascinating history of Jordan.

Over a week you’ll explore ancient Roman cities, travel along a 2,000 year old highway, be awed by the stunning Red Rose City of Petra, float in the salty waters of the Dead Sea and follow in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia as you drive through Wadi Rum.Arrival into Amman
Your journey through Jordan begins in the country’s capital, Amman. Fly into Queen Alia International Airport where you’ll be met be a representative and transferred to your hotel where you’ll be based for the next two nights. The rest of the day is at your leisure – relax in your hotel or head out and explore the restaurants, coffee houses and souks of this modern city.
Amman - Jerash - Dead Sea - Amman
Today your guide will lead you out of Amman to the ancient city of Jerash – once buried under the sands and known as the ‘Jewel of the North’. Widely considered as one of the best examples of preserved Roman architecture in the world, you’ll have the chance to explore the colonnaded streets, temple ruins and plazas. Rest tired feet as you get back in your vehicle and continue on to the Dead Sea for a few hours of exploration before returning to Amman.

Amman - Madaba - Mount Nebo - Kerak - Petra
Spend another full day exploring the sites of this mesmerising country. Begin with driving along the King’s Highway, a 2,000 year old stretch of road linking biblical towns. Your first stop is Madaba with its 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land, followed by Mount Nebo, the alleged burial place of Moses – make sure to admire the incredible view from the summit. Your last stop of the day is the hilltop Crusader Castle in Kerek, inhabited since the Iron Age. End the day by arriving to Petra for an overnight stay.

Full Day Tour of Petra
Get ready to tick off one of travel’s biggest ‘bucket list’ destinations –Petra. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this ancient city is carved into the rose-coloured sandstone, earning it the nickname ‘the Red Rose City’. Begin the experience by walking through the narrow Siq and catch your first glimpse of Petra as you emerge before the Treasury. With the assistance of a professional guide, explore the tombs, palaces and temples of this awe-inspiring site.

Petra - Little Petra - Wadi Rum - Amman
A short drive this morning brings you to Petra’s lesser-known suburb, Siq al-Barid, fondly nicknamed ‘Little Petra’. Once a major part of ancient trading routes, the buildings and tombs are (like Petra) carved directly into the rockface – be sure to take the time to look at the frescos still visible depicting flaura, fauna and fruit. Next head into the vast lunar-like landscape of Wadi Rum for an exhilarating 4X4 ride over sand dunes. End the day by returning to Amman.

Amman - Dead Sea
Once again, head out of the city and travel to the Dead Sea where you can spend the entire day relaxing in the salty and supposedly therapeutic waters. As you float admire the spectacular surrounding mountainous landscapes. Did you know that while known as the Salt Sea, the Dead Sea is in fact a lake!

Full Day at the Dead Sea
After your busy previous few days, use today to rest and recharge – wake up late for a leisurely breakfast before enjoying the facilities of your luxury hotel, floating (yet again!) in the saline waters of the Dead or indulging in a therapeutic treatment. The choice is yours!

Return to the UK
