    This twin country holiday takes you from the Pacific coast of Chile to the Atlantic coast of Argentina and over the impressive Andes mountain range. Begin in the modern capital of Santiago with a full day visit to the colourful seaside town of Valparaiso. Take an exciting journey across the Andes mountains and down into Mendoza, a popular wine region where you will enjoy a full day tour sampling the produce of various wineries. Fly to Buenos Aires and spend a few days exploring this cosmopolitan city before ending your trip at the spectacular Iguazu Falls. Extend your trip with a few nights in Rio de Janeiro.

    Santiago city tour

    This entertaining half day tour consists of visiting the main attractions of Santiago, the country’s most important cultural, cosmopolitan and artistic hub. We start out with a visit to the high points of the city’s civic centre, such as Cerro Santa Lucia (a centrally located historic urban park), the La Moneda Palace (presidential offices) and the traditional Plaza de Armas square, a meeting place for Santiago’s diverse and multicultural expressions. Buildings of historical value can be found in the neighbourhood, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, National Museum of History and Central Post Office. We later walk through the Parque Forestal, a park running parallel to the Mapocho river with a variety of tree species offering a refreshing break from the urban agitation of the city’s centre. We’ll visit the nearby Museo de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts) and continue on to Barrio Bellavista, Santiago’s bohemian neighbourhood, with some of the best bars and restaurants in the city. Return to hotel.

    Valparaiso and Vina del Mar excursion

    Morning departure to enjoy a delightful visit to two cities located on the Pacific coast that are just one hour and half by car from Santiago. Our drive will take us through Casablanca, known for its fine vineyards where we can pause for a wine-tasting experience. Once we arrive to the coast, we’ll first visit Viña del Mar, also known as the “Garden City” because of its beautiful beaches, lovely parks and flower garden landscapes. The peaceful seascape is an attractive complement for the city’s modern streets and infrastructure, turning it into an entertaining hub in constant movement. Our second destination is the picturesque city-port of Valparaiso, founded in the 16th century. The port was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site in 2003 and offers a unique and fascinating architectural adventure. Built on several steep hills above the port, the homes and buildings on the hillsides can be reached by walking along its streets, climbing the long stairs or take the cable cars built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Colorful homes dot the hills forming an irresistible landscape for photo enthusiasts and lovers of traditional sites. End of tour and return to Santiago.

    Day 3: Valparaiso and Vina del Mar

    Catch a bus from Santiago to Mendoza across the Andes

    Catch a bus starting in Santiago across the Andes and down into Mendoza. This is a scenic journey and you can admire the Andes as your bus twists and turns its way through the mountains. The bus stops for border formalities between Chile and Argentina. On arrival in Mendoza you are met and transferred to your new hotel.

    Vineyard and Olive oil tour

    Mendoza is home to excellent wineries but is also an important industry of olive oils. Due to this, this tour has been designed to share and teach about these two products through important winemakers and olive oil producers in the region. The tour begins in the morning, from your hotel and then we head to our first visit, the prestigious winery of Don Manuel Villafañe where we will taste our first wines. From here, we will head to visit a family-owned Olive oil Factory, Pasrai, for a taste of flavors including olive oils, olive pastes and sundried tomatoes, accompanied by homemade breads. Our next tour and tasting takes place at the winery of Luigi Bosca followed by a picnic of regional flavors in the winery Altavista.

    Day 6: Mendoza to Buenos Aires

    Flight from Mendoza - Buenos Aires

    Private transfer to Mendoza airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival in Buenos Aires you are met and taken by private transfer to your hotel. 

    The Argentinean capital will be your home for the next 3 nights and this buzzing and cosmopolitan city has plenty to keep you occupied. Buenos Aires is the birth place of tango, and be sure to visit one of the many evening tango shows which can be found around the city.

    Enjoy a guided city tour of the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires. Visits include the main square know as Plaza de Mayo, the colourful port neighbourhood of La Boca, the modern and upcoming region of Puerto Madero, the residential neighbourhoods of Palermo and La Recoleta and the tour finishes with a visit to the Recoleta cemetery the resting place of Eva Peron.

    Free day in Buenos Aires. A popular day trip is to catch the ferry across the Rio Plata and explore the Uruguayan town of Colonia. There a regular ferry crossing the straight and the town of Colonia is small and compact enough to explore on foot.

    Day 9: Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls

    Flight from Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls

    Private transfer to the airport for your flight north to the Iguazu Falls. Once you arrive into Puerto Iguazu you will be met and taken by private transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

    Day 9: Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls

    Argentinian side of the falls excursion

    Depart from the hotel to visit the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls. On arrival at the national park visitors board a train which takes them to the starting point of various trails around national park. One of the walkways takes you to the ‘Devils Throat’ allowing you feel the raw power of the waterfalls. After exploring a number of the different trails allowing you to see the waterfalls from a number of different angles you are transported back to your hotel.

    Day 10: Argentian Iguazu Falls

    Day 11: Brazilian Iguazu Falls and flight home

    Brazilian side of the falls excursion - Departure for the UK

    You are collected from your hotel and then cross the border into Brazil and onto the Iguazu national park. Once inside the park you explore the boardwalks which lead along the side of the Iguazu River for nearly a kilometre. On this walk it is possible to see San Martin Island and some of the 275 different waterfalls including Bossetti and the Three Musketeers. At the end of the walk you reach an observation deck giving you a unique and close up view of the Devils throat. At the end of the tour you are taken to the Foz do Iguazu airport for your flight back to the UK via Sao Paulo.
