This 10 night tailor-made itinerary sees you heading into the Amazon Jungle for three days of excursions; take a night time river cruise on a canoe, searching for alligators, visit a local ‘caboclos’ family learning about their traditions and customs and fishing for piranha and sail to the ‘Meeting of the Rivers’ where the Amazon starts. Head to Rio, taking in the city sights from Sugarloaf Mountain to Christ the Redeemer. End your holiday relaxing on the beaches of Buzios; hire a sailboat or buggy to explore the area by water or by road.Arrive into Manaus

Depart the lodge on boat or motor canoe, to visit a local family – called the “caboclos”, learn about their traditions and customs and the rich history of the Amazon, the rubber cycle, and much more. During the visit you will see how the cassava meal is prepared and how they smoke the extracted rubber sap.

Depart Ecopark at 8h30am on board of a regional double deck boat. The boat goes down the Negro River navigating along the shore of Manaus, allowing passengers to view the Amazonas Theatre, the port, Customs and interesting aspects of the local life – like the stilt houses. Arrival at The Meeting of the Waters by 11h30 am. The Meeting of the Waters is the spectacle formed by the merging waters of Negro and Solimões Rivers. From this point on it becomes the famous Amazon running all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. The waters of the two rivers run alongside, not mixing, for about 12 km. The phenomenon happens due to differences in temperature, density and speed of the waters of each river. Lunch at a typical restaurant. A buffet with international and regional dishes.

The tour starts with a visit to the Tijuca’s Forest which is an ecological preserve of Atlantic rainforest and is the biggest urban forest in the world. After your visit to the National Park you will continue to the Christ Redeemer Statue, one of the 7 Wonders of the World. The Christ Redeemer has one of the most beautiful panoramas of the city, and is a must visit on any trip to Rio. From the feet of the Statue, you can see the South Zone with the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and the Botanic Garden. At the D.Marta Turret, the attraction is part of the North Zone with Maracanã and the Guanabara Bay with the Rio-Niterói Bridge, the Sugar Loaf, Marina of Glory and Niterói. After lunch, you continue the jeep ride with a visit to the Sugar Loaf Mountain. You take the two cable cars up to the top of the mountain which gives you another magnificent view of Rio. To finish the tour through beautiful Rio, you’ll visit the Botanic Garden, created by D.João VI in 1817 to serve as a cultivation centreof exotic plants. At the end of the tour return to your hotel.

Visas - British Passport holders do not require a Visa to enter Brazil. Visa requirements though do change and as such you must check the latest requirements with the appropriate embassy or consulate and ensure that you have the correct documentation to travel to Brazil.
If flying with a US carrier or flying via the US with any airline, you will be required to hold an ESTA under the Visa Waiver Programme - even if you are not stopping in the USA. This will be your responsibility to obtain.
