Fly into Amman where you’ll be greeted and directly transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to spend at your leisure.

Sun- Day 2 (Desert Castles & City Tour)

Amman - Desert Castles - Amman City Tour

Start your day with a tour of the Desert Castles, stunning examples of early Islamic art and architecture; the mosaics, frescoes, stone and stucco carvings and illustrations depict life in the 8th century. Head back to Amman for a guided tour of Jordan’s capital city – visit the citadel, Umayyad Palace and Byzantine churches before walking through the Archaeological and Folklore Museums.

Mon - Day 3 (Pella & Umm Qais)

Amman - Pella - Umm Qais - Amman

The first stop on today’s tour is the ancient town of Pella where you can explore the Graeco-Roman ruins, walled cities from the Bronze and Iron Ages and Byzantine churches. Carry on to the hilltop town of Umm Qais overlooking the Jordan Valley and filled with jet-black sarcophagi and an underground mausoleum.

Tue - Day 4 (Jerash & Dead Sea)

Amman - Jerash - Dead Sea - Amman

Be sure to put on your walking shoes! Begin the day walking through the ancient city of Jerash - marvel at the Roman architecture as you stroll colonnaded streets, hilltop temples and public square and amble along city walls pierced by towers and gates. Give your feet a rest as you drive to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea where you’ll have the chance to float on the saline (and supposedly therapeutic) waters.

Wed - Day 5 (Madaba, Mount Nebo & Kerak)

Amman - Madaba - Mount Nebo - Kerak - Petra

Travel along the 2,000 year old King’s Highway, making your first stop of the day at Madaba, home to a 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land. Continue your journey along the road to Mount Nebo; rising 840 metres, this is both the alleged burial place of Moses and a fantastic spot to snap pictures as you look out over the Holy Land. The final stop is Kerak – a 12th century Crusader castle perched on a hilltop nearly 1,000 metres above the sea. End the day with your arrival into Petra for an overnight stay.

Begin your exploration of the 2,000 year old tombs, palaces and temples of the ‘Red Rose City’ with a walk through the narrow canyon before catching your first glimpse of Petra as you approach Al Khazneh, the treasury monument.

Fri - Day 7 (Little Petra & Wadi Rum)

A short drives brings you to Al Beidha (Little Petra). Like its more famous sister, the houses and tombs have been carved from rose coloured sandstone; take time to look over the 1st century frescoes depicting fruit, flora and fauna. Next, follow in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia as you travel to the impressive Wadi Rum Desert – strap yourself in for a thrilling 4X4 jeep ride through the valleys and dunes! You’ll return to Amman for a final night in the capital prior to your departure the following day.
