Embark on an active family holiday to Peru
Begin you 12 night family holiday to Peru in Lima where you will learn how to cook a traditional Peruvian dish. Fly to the Amazon Jungle for two days of excursions and wildlife spotting before travelling into the Inca heartland, mountain biking and visiting market towns and ruins. Market and Cooking Class
You will be transferred from your hotel to the market of San Isidro, where today´s culinary experience begins. There, you will discover its stands and main ingredients used in Peruvian cooking, accompanied by a Peruvian chef. Then you will be transferred to Urban Kitchen to be part of a participatory cooking lesson where a chef will demonstrate dishes from our country. After this fun experience, you will enjoy the delicious dishes prepared in class. After that you will return to the hotel.

Lima - Amazon Jungle
Start your journey arriving to Puerto Maldonado, where you are met and transferred to the port. Navigate by outboard motorised canoe along the Madre de Dios River to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion for approximately 25 minutes. After lunch, take a walk through our nature trails, where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary rainforest. At dusk navigate by outboard motorised canoe. By sailing on the Madre de Dios River, you will learn about its ecosystem, Amazonian creeks, nocturnal animals behaviour, and the southern constellations.

Amazon Jungle excursions
After a delicious breakfast get ready for a long trek through terra firma into the Tambopata National Reserve towards Lake Sandoval. Navigate by dugout canoe across this mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter, blue and yellow macaw, red howler monkey, black caiman, and one of the world's biggest fresh water scaled fish, the paiche. After lunch take a 20-minute ride by outboard motorised canoe to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center. Ascend one of the two 98-foot towers (30 m.) and cross the 7 hanging bridges that connect the treetops at 91 ft. high (28 m.). Enjoy the breathtaking vistas and get the chance to watch white-throated toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys and the three-toed sloth. At night get ready for an adventure where you will explore the Amazon rainforest that gives way to nocturnal animals who display intriguing behaviour patterns, and enhanced senses as adaptation mechanisms.

Amazon Jungle excursions
In the morning visit a native farm where you will be able to learn local techniques of cultivation and taste some of the products during the visit. From here visit the botanical garden, discover the immense variety of medicinal plants considered part of the natural pharmacy used by the habitants at the amazon region. Take a rest and get ready for the Cocha water excursion. Enjoy a dugout canoe ride on the Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion natural pond. Try native fishing applying the catch and release techniques, as you enjoy the scenery observing hoatzins, a diversity of fly catchers, and gray-necked woodrails.

Amazon Jungle - Sacred Valley
After breakfast buffet, take a ride back to Puerto Maldonado by outboard motorized canoe. Arrive at the Butterfly House where you may wait for your flight back home or to your next destination, while visiting this beautiful building and learning about the fascinating transformation of these colourful insects. Fly to Cusco, where upon your arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Mountain biking in the Sacred Valley
After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel in the Sacred Valley to be transferred to the town of Maras where the ride starts. Here you will be briefed on the activity and then begin your fun bike tour through the fascinating landscape of the valley (the ride time will depend on the speed of the group). After your visit ends, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Chinchero
Today you will visit the Chinchero town, one of the most important towns of the Inca Empire located on a terrace above 3800m. There you get to learn about the archaeological complex that draws attention for its well-kept andenes (agricultural terraces) and a large Inca fortress located in the place attributed to be the origin of the rainbow. The construction of the beautiful colonial church located at the foot of the Main Square was completed in 1607 over the foundations of Inca constructions; its main altar is carved in gold leaf with a baroque style and it is dedicated to the Virgin of the Nativity and its walls are decorated with paintings of Diego Quispe Tito, the top representative of the Cusco school of art. You will return to Cusco after touring the town's charming streets of cobblestone.

Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
We pick you up early in the morning from your hotel and drive you to the train station to board the train that will take us to km. 104 (the starting point of the hike). After crossing the suspension bridge over the Urubamba River we visit the archaeological site of Chachabamba (2,150m / 7,052ft). From here, we will hike upwards for about 8km (approximately 4 hours) and get to the magnificent archaeological site of Wiñayhuayna (2,700m), an impressive complex made up of an agricultural center with numerous terraces, a religious sector as well as an urban sector. On the way we will appreciate the vegetation of the forest. After having the box lunch we will continue for about one hour further onto 'Inti Punku' (The 'Sun gate') at 2,730m (8,792ft), from where you will have your first dramatic and impressive view of Machu Picchu (2,430m / 7,972ft). As we are going down, we will take a side path off the trail to take a bus that transports us to Aguas Calientes where you will check into your accommodation.

Machu Picchu excursion
After an early breakfast we will take the bus back up to Machu Picchu. A walking tour is given by a guide through the different sectors of this great Inca legacy, considered Cultural Heritage. In the afternoon, we will take a bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then board the train back to Cusco.

San Blas walking tour
A tour to stretch your legs. San Blas quarter was originally used as dwellings for the Inca nobles, who built impressive stone constructions at a short distance of what used to be Huacaypata and it is the current place of the Main Square. It is still possible to see the unmistakable rigor of the Inca walls at the base of many constructions. Today the quarter is a conglomerate of charming small cobblestone streets that are very popular among craftspeople, who sell their works on the street. Among its top attractions is the San Blas Church, a temple that houses a pulpit that is a priceless work of art.
