Day 1 Begin in Havana

Begin in Havana

Arrive in Havana from the UK; meet and greet and transfer to your hotel. Depending on the time of your arrival you may have chance to take a little wander through the local area and sample the atmosphere. Overnight accommodation at a 4 star hotel in Havana.

Day 2 Havana

Havana

Following breakfast meet your experienced guide and set off on a group tour of Havana’s historic centre including a stop at famous venues such as La Bodeguita del Medio and La Floridita, plus a visit to the Havana Club Rum Museum. Lunch will be served in a casual restaurant. The rest of the day is free, so you can further explore this fascinating city. Overnight accommodation at a 4 star hotel in Havana.

Day 3 Guama and Cienfuegos

Guama and Cienfuegos

After breakfast depart towards Cienfuegos, known as the Pearl of the South, on the way there is a visit to Guama to the picturesque area of Treasure Lake for a boat trip. Lunch will be available at a typical local restaurant. Once at Cienfuegos there will be time to have a look round this city and admire the neo-classical architecture. Overnight accommodation at a 3-4 star hotel in Cienfuegos.

Day 4 Sierra de Escambray and Trinidad

Sierra de Escambray and Trinidad

Following breakfast the tour continues to Sierra de Escambray and a nature reserve including waterfalls, natural pools, caves, flora and fauna, best seen on a hiking tour. Lunch will be included at a typical local restaurant, before driving to Trinidad. Overnight accommodation at a Casa Particular in Trinidad.

Day 5 Trinidad

Trinidad

Enjoy an informative tour of Trinidad, which was built on the 16th Century and is very impressive. Later on there is an excursion to Valle de los Ingenios with a visit to the Torre Iznaga a former watchtower. Overnight accommodation at a Casa Particular in Trinidad.

Day 6 Santa Clara

Santa Clara

Time to head to Santa Clara to visit the famous Che Guevara Memorial and gather further insight in to the incredible life of this famous revolutionist. Overnight accommodation at a 3 star hotel in Santa Clara.

Day 7 Pinar del Rio and Vinales

Pinar del Rio and Vinales

After breakfast the tour continues to the beautiful area of Pinar del Rio, home to the island’s fantastic tobacco plantations, with a visit to the city of Pinar del Rio and scenic drive to reach Vinales. This town is surrounded by tobacco plantation mogotes – unique limestone formations. Lunch will be included in a local restaurant. Overnight accommodation at a 3 star hotel in Vinales.

Day 8 Cayo Jutias

Today is all about relaxing, on Cayo Jutias, a small island with idyllic beaches and crystal clear waters, connected by a causeway with the mainland. Lunch is included whilst on the island. Overnight accommodation at a 3 star hotel in Vinales.

Day 9 Las Terrazas

Sierra del Rosario mountain range & Las Terrazas

Next the tour heads to the Las Terrazas community, located in the majestic Sierra del Rosario mountain range, forestry is the main focus here and it is a particularly beautiful area. Lunch is included in a local restaurant. After exploring this rural community the tour returns to Havana. Overnight accommodation at a 4* hotel in Havana.

Day 10 Depart Cuba

Depart Cuba

After breakfast you have free time until the transfer to Havana airport for a flight back to the UK today, or ask us about extending your time in Cuba, perhaps some beach time at Varadero or Cayo Santa Maria for a few more nights relaxation.

As our tours are set up many months in advance, changes can occur to accommodation, restaurants and places to be visited as a result of changes in the local provision of services in Cuba. This is especially apparent in the winter season as Cuba continues to cope and change as a result of unprecedented global demand for the island, as well as a rapidly emerging USA visitor market that is both politically and commercially important to the Cuban Government and Tourism Authorities.

Where tour accommodation is located in a narrow side street where a larger vehicle/bus cannot access easily, or road rules restrict the driver from pulling up outside, guests may be required to walk a short distance with their luggage to the closest access point.

Our escorted tour itineraries are generally fast paced to fit everything in, and will generally keep you busy. A reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required.
