This 12 night holiday kicks off with a couple of nights at the boutique Hotel B in Lima where you’ll enjoy a private city tour. Fly onto Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Incas, taking in the unusual salt pans at Maras before shopping for souvenirs at the Ollantaytambo market. Continue to the Machu Picchu where you’ll have two days to explore the ruins. Finish your Peruvian honeymoon on South America’s only luxury sleeper train, the Belmond Andean Explorer, journeying in style to Lake Titicaca.

Arrive into Lima where you are met and taken by private transfer to your hotel in the stylish district of Barranco. Rest of the day at leisure.

City Tour Lima & Casa Aliaga (Private Tour – 4 hours)

You tour will start in downtown Lima, where you will visit the historical San Martin Square and then you will arrive at the Main Square to see the Presidential Palace and the Lima Cathedral, impressive constructions that are still being used. You will then visit the Aliaga House, an ancient vice-regal construction delivered by Francisco Pizarro to one of his captains when he founded the city. Next, you will visit the Santo Domingo Church, built along forty years and completed at the end of the 16th century. It is also known as the Minor Basilica and Maximum Convent of our Lady of the Rosary. Evening romantic dinner in a restaurant along the Pacific Coast.

Day 3 ( Lima - Cuzco - Sacred Valley )

Private Cusco to Sacred Valley with Awanakancha on the route (Private – 3 hours)

Private transfer to Lima airport for your flight up to Cusco. On arrival in Cusco you are met and taken by private transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. On your way you will make a stop to visit AwanaKancha. You will see Alpacas there, as well as other animals of the area. At this idyllic place you will also be explained the art of dyeing. The locals use various natural resources to give their textiles the typical, intense colors. Finally, you will be transferred to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Afternoon free to relax. Overnight

Maras, Moray & Ollantaytambo (Private Tour - 6 hours)

You will begin your trip visiting the archaeological sites of Maras and Moray. Maras is an impressive salt mine complex. These are huge salt deposits that were exchanged for other products from different parts of the Inca empire. Moray's archaeological vestiges are composed of mysterious concentric circular terraces which according to some scholars, could be an agricultural research centre. Lunch is included in Hacienda Huayoccari, a luxury property. Tucked away in the lush vegetation–filled private estate. Then continue to Ollantaytambo, stopping at various points of interest along the route. Ollantaytambo is a typical example of the urban planning of the Incas, whose residents still live in accordance with their old traditions. Pachacútec (1438-1471) conquered the town, destroyed it and built a new one, absorbing it as part of his empire, and it is currently considered one of the most remarkable archaeological complexes of the Inca Empire.

Free day in the Sacred Valley. Perhaps visit the nearby market town of Pisac, enjoy an outdoor activity such as: horseriding, biking, rafting, visit a local community or book a nice Spa experience to relax.

Visit to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu (Private Tour – 2 ½ hours)

Your trip to Machu Picchu will start with a two-hour train trip to Aguas Calientes town. After a short bus ride you will arrive at Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of engineering and architecture which is believed to have served as a sanctuary and resort for Inca Pachacútec (1438-1471). Machu Picchu means "Old Mountain" and UNESCO have listed it as a World Heritage and it is one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Enjoy a guided tour of the citadel during the afternoon. Dinner is included at the hotel.

Optional second visit to Machu Picchu

Free morning to re-visit Machu Picchu (2nd entrance is additional). If you are feeling adventurous then it is possible to climb Huayna Picchu mountain (special permit required) in order to get a unique view of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon catch the train to Cusco before you are transported to your new hotel.

City Tour and archaeological sites (Private Tour – 4 hours)

You will start your tour with a visit to the Coricancha, also known as the "Temple of the Sun". From here you will go to the Cathedral, the most important building in the Main Square and one of the most splendid Spanish colonial churches in the Americas which is shaped as a Latin Cross. You will then visit Sacsayhuamán fortress, a symbolic work of the Incas which protected the Holy City. The Sacsayhuamán complex was built with megalithic blocks whose transportation and construction continue to be a mystery. You will then go to Qenqo located 4km's away from Cusco and is archaeological complex mainly used for religious purposes. You will finally visit the vestiges of Puka Pukara, located 7km away from Cusco. Puka Pukara, which means "red fortress" was an architectural complex presumably used for military purposes.

Local Market & Chocolate Museum (Private Tour – 4 hours)

After having breakfast, enjoy a tour that starts with a local market, which has stalls selling local products including a wide variety of potatoes, traditional Andean food, flowers, among many others. You will then be transferred to the Choco Museum located two blocks from the main square, an ideal place to relax with a delicious hot chocolate and enjoy the chocolate workshop.

Belmond Andean Explorer Train to Lake Titicaca (Group Tour)

Visitors will embark on one of the most amazing routes in the Peruvian Andes on board the wonderful Andean Explorer train. The train has two dining cars, a lounge wagon and an observation car from where you can appreciate the majestic landscapes of the high altiplano. It also has elegant suites and cabins where passengers can rest comfortably. The journey begins leaving Cusco towards Puno. You will enjoy a delicious lunch and then make the first stop in Raqchi a archaeological site with remains of Inca temples and buildings. The journey will continue and after teatime you will be amazed by a breathtaking sunset at La Raya, the border between Cusco and Puno and surrounded by towering mountains. Dinner will be served on board you reach Lake Titicaca station at night.

Uros & Taquile Island Tour (Regular Group with private guide – 8 hours)

You will enjoy a glorious sunrise on Lake Titicaca and breakfast will be served on board. Once you reach Puno, you will be picked up from the railway station. Upon your arrival at Puno's lake port, a vessel will take you to the floating islands of the Uros. Uros are an ancestral society that inhabits a series of artificial islands built with totora, a reed that grows in the lake. The islands are built by weaving this reed in the places where they grow the thickest and form a natural layer. They build their totora houses over it and cook in the open air to prevent possible fires. After a one and a half-hour tour, you will continue your trip to the Taquile Island. Unlike other islands, inhabited by Aymara-speaking people in the lake, its residents speak Quechua. It was part of the Inca Empire and it is possible to note vestiges of said culture in their buildings. Upon your arrival, you will receive a brief explanation on the island and will attend a cultural activity. You will return to Puno after lunch.
