You could also hike along the myriad trails which begin in the town and take you into the surrounding wilderness.

Banff to Jasper with Columbia Icefield Excursion
Depart on a full-day sightseeing transfer to Jasper including a stop at the incredible Columbia Icefield along the famous Icefields Parkway.
The enormous Columbia Glacier covers nearly 325 square kilometres and dominates the surrounding landscape. An Ice Explorer ride will take you onto the ancient Athabasca Glacier and is followed up by a walk on the Glacier SkyWalk – a glass-floored platform extending 30 metres out over the Sunwapta Canyon.
Afterwards, you'll continue on to arrive in Jasper late in the afternoon.

Rocky Mountaineer: Jasper to Kamloops
After a shuttle transfer to the Jasper train station (provided by Rocky Mountaineer), you'll board the Rocky Mountaineer train for a spectacular rail excursion from Jasper to Kamloops.
This unique daylight rail journey allows you to view some of the most spectacular scenery in Western Canada. By late afternoon, you'll be in the arid ranchland of interior British Columbia, where you'll disembark for the night in the quiet city of Kamloops.

On the first full day of your cruise, you'll sail through the awe-inspiring Inside Passage, passing through stunning scenery of Pacific rainforest, shimmering glaciers, breathtaking fjords and the snow-capped peaks of the North Coast Mountains.

The cruise will continue to the town of Skagway, a once bustling hub during the Klondike Goldrush, which saw some 100,000 people from far and wide emigrate to the Alaskan wilderness between 1896 and 1899 in search of their fortune.
Travel in the footsteps of these rugged prospectors, who braved the harsh Alaskan wilderness under the spell of gold. Cruise into the port of Ketchikan, which is set along the shores of the Tongass Narrows, unique for its many shops and houses built suspended above the water.
Known as the Salmon Capital of the World, this lively town also is home to Creek Street, the Tongass Historical Museum, Totem Bight State Park and the Saxman Village.
Ketchikan is also known for the many Native American totem poles which can be seen throughout the town.
