Luxury Travel Consultant

Your dream holiday is just a phone call away

My love for travel started with my first travel job in 1995, back in the days of brochures and physical paper tickets. I helped people book every kind of holiday, from the beaches of the Indian Ocean to road trip holidays in Canada. I was amazed by how rewarding travel can be.

I have two adult daughters who now travel as much as me. Giving them the travel bug has been a great source of joy for me – and I feel the same way about the countless clients that have trusted me over the years to provide dream holidays with their families.

My current role now involves specialised areas of the world so I can tailor-make luxury getaways.

Q&A with Our Expert Fahim

How many years have you worked in travel?

30 years.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE DESTINATION?

Seychelles and Sri Lanka.

WHICH DESTINATIONS DO YOU SPECIALISE IN?

I specialise in the Indian Ocean (Seychelles, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Mauritius), the Middle East (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Qatar and Bharain), the Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia and Bali) and Europe (the Greek islands, Cyprus and Turkey).

WHAT’S AT THE TOP OF YOUR BUCKET LIST?

Japan and Australia!

WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN TRAVEL?

I love to see how people live in other countries’ environments and cultures. It just enriches your whole life experience and makes you feel lucky (and sometimes a bit jealous).

WHAT’S YOUR BEST CHILDHOOD HOLIDAY MEMORY?

The model village in Devon and theme parks in the UK, with long drives in the car.

What was your best ever trip?

Miami and Orlando with my daughters when they were young, visiting all their favourite characters from Disney and my favourite film legends from Back to the Future and Spiderman, then driving down the coast to Naples and the Everglades.

What was your MOST RECENT WORK TRIP?

I recently returned from Athens and Crete, which was a real eye opener for the scenic beauty of Crete and the vibrance of a capital city.

What's your favourite hotel?

This is a tough one – but I’d have to say Six Senses Zil Pasyon in Seychelles. A close second is the BVLGARI Resort, Dubai.

What was your most awe-inspiring travel moment?

Climbing Adams Peak in Sri Lanka at over 2200 metres in high humidity while it was raining. The climb down was more challenging than going up.

Jet skiing on my honeymoon to find dolphins where two oceans meet was another amazing experience.

What's one item you always take with you?

My GoPro and a waterproof pouch for my phone.

My Top Recommendations

What's your favourite hidden gem?

The Nine Skies resort in Sri Lanka, set in the hills near Ella Town with stunning views, waterfalls, and the best train journey I’ve ever been on.
