My parents always made a huge effort to expose me to different cultures and experiences, and this enthusiasm has stuck with me all my life.

My travels have taken me to the UAE, Oman, Barbados, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Thailand, the Maldives, Uganda (safari and gorilla trekking), South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe (with breathtaking helicopter rides over Victoria Falls), Kenya, Tanzania, (experiencing the Great Wildebeest Migration in Serengeti National Park), Zanzibar and more. There’s a whole world to see, and I’m always on the lookout for my next adventure.

How long have you worked in the travel industry?

I’ve worked in travel for 17 years. I joined Best at Travel in 2016 as a sales consultant, primarily dealing with holiday requests for the Middle East. I later expanded to the Indian Ocean and Asia.

What’s your favourite destination?

The Maldives. I love the pristine beaches, the food, and the lovely people.

Which locations do you specialise in?

I specialise in tailormade holidays in the Middle East, the Indian Ocean, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Europe, as well as cruises.

What’s your best holiday memory from your childhood?

Digging a trench around our tent with a tablespoon to protect ourselves from an incoming storm during a holiday in the Costa Brava.

What was your most recent work trip?

I recently returned from a trip to the Maldives. I visited some of our favourite handpicked resorts to see things from our clients’ perspectives and understand how we can refine their experience.

What was your most awe-inspiring moment while travelling?

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Uganda can be strenuous, with hikes through dense forest and steep terrain, but the reward of observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat is one of my all-time highlights.

Another highlight was my first time on a sea plane from Male Airport to JA Manafaru. The view of the different Maldivian Islands was breathtaking.

Which one item do you always bring with you?

I bring my binoculars on every trip.

Always be open to new adventures!

What was your best ever trip?

I’ve been lucky enough to experience some amazing things on my company trips so far. My favourite has to be the Maldives, and enjoying stunning views over the different islands from our sea plane.

My favourite hotel is Emerald Faarufushi. It fully embodies the Maldivian culture.

Can you tell us about a hidden gem you love?

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda is a world-renowned wildlife experience. A large population of mountain gorillas reside there in the forest. It’s incredible.
