Expert Insight: Beachcomber Mauritius

13th September 2017The Editor562 views

Our personal travel experts have travelled far and wide to ensure that your holiday dreams come true. Our travel consultant, Didi Banovska, travelled to Mauritius in May staying exclusively at Beachcomber resorts. Her account is below:

I had the amazing opportunity to visit Mauritius in May and instantly fell in love with this beautiful island. The landscape is stunning – powdery white beaches, palm trees and sugar cane fields, warm and clear waters of Indian Ocean, spectacular Le Morne…the list is endless.

I stayed at some amazing hotels, enjoyed fine dinners and luxury Spa treatments and met some of the friendliest people on the planet.

Where to stay:

Le Mauricia – Located in walking distance of Grand Bay this resort is perfect for young people who want to have an easy access to shops, restaurants and night life. The night club in the hotel itself open 4 nights in a week.

Le Victoria – Located between the capital Port Louis and Grand Bay, the transfer time from airport to hotel is approximately 1 hour drive. When you arrive you are greeted by a 800m private white beach, huge rooms and a fantastic mini club ideal for families.

Le Cannonier – This beautiful 4* hotel is located just a short distance from Grand Bay on the site of an old fortress – some of the canons are still there! There is a fantastic Spa Centre built in the branches of an ancient Banyan Tree, ideal for relaxation and indulgent treatments. There is also a great kids club that is set up inside of an old tower.

Shandrani Resort & Spa – This is a great 5* resort nestled between three stunning beaches on its very own peninsula. There is an incredibly short transfer time from the airport, just 10 minute easy drive. There is a fantastic all-inclusive concept making it perfect for families and couples alike.

Dinarobin Golf & Spa Resort – This luxury 5* resort is located on the beautiful Morne peninsula with breath-taking scenery and long white beaches. The hotel offers various types of suite accommodation arranged in Mauritian style villas. The guests can use all the facilities of the sister resort; Paradis Hotel & Golf Club, which is just 5 minutes away by golf car. There is an 18-hole golf course on site for beginners and professionals alike.

Trou Aux Biches – This gorgeous 5* resort is located on the west coast of the island and boasts one of the greatest beaches in Mauritius. The guests can choose between five different types of suites and two types of villas nestled in the lush tropical gardens.

Beachcomber Hotels Benefits:
– There are all-inclusive options available in most of the properties
– Complimentary Bob Marlin Mini Club
– A huge range of complimentary water and land sports
– Spa by Clarins in all 5* properties
– Outstanding service and care for each guest

Activities to to be missed:
• Explore the island by bike (guided or not)
• Swim with the dolphins
• Enjoy the sunset with glass of champagne
• Treat yourself with a wonderful massage
• Take some golf lessons or play if you are proficient
• Explore the underwater coral world of Indian Ocean
