With its black glass pyramid stretching 100 metres above the Strip and a cannot-be-missed beam lighting up the night sky, Luxor Las Vegas is one of the city’s most iconic hotels and excellent value for money. Rooms and suites are minimalist in design and are – quirkily – reached by the hotel’s “inclinator”, an elevator that runs on an angle right into the corners of the pyramid. Beyond the entrance where you’ll be welcomed by larger-than-life statue s of Egyptian pharaohs and a sphinx there’s a five acre swimming pool area surrounded by loungers, daybeds and cabanas – we recommend hiring the latter to enjoy a plasma TV, mini fridge, food and beverage service and two rafts for the pool. And in true Las Vegas fashion, there’s no shortage of entertainment from comedy show and musical performances to exhibitions running at the Atrium level. Please note that a mandatory daily resort fee of approx. $35 (excluding tax) is payable locally, directly to the hotel upon arrival.

Luxor Las Vegas had drinking and dining covered with 15 on-site restaurants, lounges and cafés and a handful of bars. You’ll find something to satisfy your cravings whether its American favourite (think burger and pizza) to food from around the world including Asian and Mexican cuisine. When it’s time for a tipple, you’ll find cocktails and beer – we love the Aurora Bar with its ceiling inspired by the Northern Lights.
