Rabat is Morocco's capital, and Morooco’s largest city is Casablanca. Other important cities include Marrakesh, Agadir, Tangier and Oujda. Due to its location and proximity to European countries such as Spain and Italy, the cuisine in Morocco is often described as some of the most diverse in the world - so for food lovers wishing to sample a not-too-distant destination for their next holiday, Morocco really fits the bill. Most meat dishes are made using chicken, as red meat such as beef and lamb tends to be more expensive.

All dishes are heavily spiced with the most distinctive flavours coming from saffron, mint and lemon. One of the most popular dishes in the country and eaten in many other parts of the world is couscous. There are so many areas to visit in Morocco but Marrakesh is probably one of the most popular destinations for tourists. With live open-air markets, tourists can buy anything from handmade carpets and rugs to spices. There are also many five star hotels and tourist resorts located throughout the country and it is little wonder film stars such as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow have visited.
