Canyon Lodge is a converted 20th Century homestead with a lively bar and a swimming pool overlooking the plains and the purple hues of the Fish River Canyon. It’s a great setting close to the Richtersveld Transfrontier National Park and just 20km from the main viewpoint of the Fish River Canyon.

About Canyon Lodge

Canyon Lodge is situated in the privately owned Gondwana Canyon Park. A total of 520 square kilometres stretches across the rugged rock-strewn terrain and offers fascinating desert life, including quiver trees, dassies and resident owl. The lodge is built from local rock and thatch and blends into its surroundings amongst enormous granite boulders. 

A total of 30 thatched bungalows have minimalistic furnishings and offer en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and mosquito nets. There is plenty to keep you busy during your stay at Canyon Lodge, such as hiking and walking trails, relaxing around the sheltered swimming pool, sunset drives and excursions to the Fish River Canyon.
Dining:
An indoor restaurant and lively bar are available. Meals consist of light lunches on an a la carte menu and buffet dinners with flavourful game dishes. Part of a working farm, the lodge has its own butchery, dairy and smokehouse which provide all yoghurt, cheese, cold meats and eggs. Fresh herbs and fruit are sourced from the lodge’s own gardens
