Driving around Cape Town at your own pace and explore all the city has to offer before flying to the white sands of Plettenberg. After a week of adventure head further East to the game reserve of Amakhala and discover all the African bush has to offer a family holiday.

Day 1 - Day 4: Exploring Cape Town

UK to Cape Town

Once landed in Cape Town, pick up your hired vehicle and drive to your hotel in the cosmopolitan area of Sea Point. Using your hotel as a base, over the next four days feel free to drive around and explore the sights and wonders of Cape Town.

Everything is within easy driving distance from your hotel so be sure to make use of your days.

Day 5: Travel to Plettenberg Bay

Cape Town to Plettenberg Bay

This morning sees you heading back to the airport, dropping off your car and catching your short 50 minute flight to George airport where you will again collect your car and take the short 1 hour 30 minute drive to Plettenberg Bay for three nights.

Day 5 - Day 7: Beach stay - Plettenberg Bay

Plettenberg Bay

With spectacular views of the bay, mountains and inland lagoons, Plettenberg Bay is the perfect location to enjoy the garden route as it is extremely central to it all. The town is also populated with great local restaurants and there is an abundance of activities to take part in in and around the town.

Day 8: Tsitsikamma to Amakhala

Plettenberg Bay to Amakhala Hlosi Game Lodge

Set out after a heartily breakfast to your next adventure which will be a safari at the malaria free zone of Amakhala Game Reserve.

The drive from Plettenberg Bay to Amakhala is roughly a 3h:00 long scenic drive. Passing through Tsitsikamma, Jefferies Bay and Port Elizabeth there is plenty to see and plenty of areas to stop off at and freshen up.

Day 9 - Day 10: Game drives

Amakhala Hlosi Game Reserve

Each day you will have the opportunity to go on a morning and evening game drive to spot the Big 5 and all the other wildlife that surrounds the park.

Spend the next few days lazing around the lodge and at the pool looking out towards the African bush.

The game very often stroll past the lodge offering great game viewing right from your own room and the main area.

Day 11: Time to leave

Amakhala Game Lodge - UK

On your last morning, enjoy an early morning game drive before heading back to the UK. Take the short drive back to Port Elizabeth and drop your hired car off.

Catch your internal flight across to Johannesburg where you will board you international flight back to the UK.
